David, thanks for meeting with Raphael Grech at WMG, University of Warwick, to look at how Spirent is working with universities and industry to explore the future of positioning, navigation, and timing
There’s a surprising amount of tech packed inside that little blue dot on your maps app... 🔵 I was invited into the anechoic chamber at WMG, University of Warwick a few weeks ago to learn about positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technology and how widespread its applications are: ⌚️ Timing – accurate time-synchronisation is fundamental to operation of global financial markets 🧭 Navigation – autonomous vehicles are slow to arrive on our roads, but adoption of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) on factory floors is widespread and accelerating 🌐 Positioning – used for precision agriculture and supply chain provenance and security It’s much more than Google maps📍It’s also why assurance and resilience of PNT systems is so important, as interference – environmental or malicious – can be catastrophic. Thanks to Raphael Grech, PhD from Spirent Communications for the PNT 101 and his deep insights into the importance of trust, assurance and testing of these systems. 🎓 Raphael mentioned the Spirent academic programme - more on that here: https://bit.ly/3CcROrO #PNT #5G #GNSS #GPS #AV #AGV #Ad #SpirentAmbassador
