Our last remote access option revolves around additional VPN connectivity on top of a private MPLS network and represents our most secure IoT connectivity solution: Private Connection with VPN Access - Designed for customers that need to isolate IoT device traffic or need to add additional firewall functionality in front of devices, but also need to access the solution from outside the network. - Devices are added to customer’s MPLS providing complete network isolation from other customers. - Devices will be assigned a private static IP address which will be reachable from other MPLS sites. - Internet destined traffic from the devices will go through the network breakout device’s public IP. An additional IPSec VPN is built between a customer site and the Firewall-as-a-service breakout for remote access. This option represents privacy and security from both inside and outside your IoT network. Latest from Openreach: Openreach have announced a further 79 exchanges in their FTTP Priority Exchange Stop Sell program, giving 12 months notice of the impending stop-sell in these areas. In terms of functionality, configuration and security, there is no difference between Options 4a (last week's post) and 4b however, with 4b, a private APN is provided allowing a network/customer to have their own custom identifier. Data should not be routed over the public internet due to compliance reason.
