Thinking and working differently to create strategic momentum – how L&D becomes a strategic partner The theme of L&D having strategic influence in the business and earning ‘a seat at the top table’ feels timeless, yet little seems to have changed over the years. However, there are important signals the environment is changing - and that it needs to change. More serious questions are being asked about investment in learning and the value it can create. To demonstrate that value, learning must show it can contribute to the solution of meaningful and valuable problems far beyond the design of great training experiences. So, how do we reinvent ourselves as strategic partners to the business? Join Sponge and Fosway Group's Myles Runham in this webinar as they discuss: What does the landscape for learning as strategic influencer look like now: levels of maturity, barriers, blockers and progress The necessary conditions for learning teams and services to have strategic influence Partnering relationships as a crucial foundation Exploring the Sponge 3Es methodology, its rationale and benefits Describing how the approach has worked in customer contexts Where next for the industry – L&D as strategic service to the business and service providers as strategic partners to L&D Register now, the webinar takes place on 16 Oct: https://ow.ly/pCYB50TwTCU #Learning #LearningAndDevelopment #DigitalLearning

We're a week into Learning Leap, our award-winning global compliance learning campaign, masterminded by my colleague Sarah Twaites. Office colleagues across the UK, Ireland, Central Europe, India and our sourcing operations in Asia will be taking part. Learning Leap is a microlearning concept that we have developed over five years with help from Sponge. Unlike most other compliance training, Learning Leap is built around the completion of a short, daily scenario that reflects one of the many compliance risks colleagues face at Tesco. It fits into the flow of a day's work and colleagues tell us they find this approach preferable to long-form modules that often repeat content from previous years. But that's not all. Learning Leap is targeted to the risks faced by different teams at Tesco, so they should only complete training on the risks that they and their team might actually face in their roles. Colleagues also tell us they like the focused nature of this approach, which also allows us to adapt quickly to recent events or changes. Finally, we have used Learning Leap as the test bed for a range of behavioural science-based interventions to keep colleagues on track with their learning. Whether through targeted communications or the provision of good quality data to our leaders, we aim for colleagues to complete their Learning Leap campaign more or less on time and without receiving a dreaded bold caps chaser email. Too many people contribute to the content design and delivery of Learning Leap to thank them all but it's an example of how good planning and collaboration across teams can deliver a great outcome.
