Our brilliant Future Brunels had a fantastic day out with the team at Renishaw where they learned about 3D printing in preparation to design their very own baubles. These will decorate our spectacular Christmas tree which will take pride of place in Brunel Square this year for everyone to enjoy. 🎄✨

Ahoy and ho ho ho! 🎄🚢 While pumpkins (and turnips, in our case) might still be decking the halls, our Victorian Christmas Weekend is coming to town very soon 🛷 It's such a special time of year here at the ship. Our dockyard is transformed into a winter wonderland and we welcome our signature green Old Father Christmas to help spread the cheer ❄️ This year we're celebrating on 7 & 8 December. We welcomed Wildlife Champions from Avon Wildlife Trust to SS Great Britain Trust today to find about the history of plant migration on board the ship. They loved seeing the bramble pushing its way out of one of our Wardian cases and the rare Australian rock orchid in flower. Great to hear about the amazing work the Champions are doing across Bristol and Bath.

Another fun and engaging school tour today led by one of our fantastic volunteer tour guides. The children had a great time exploring the ship, testing out their strength with a ship's biscuit and steering the big wheel!

We're lucky to have welcomed lots of tv crews over the years, but we've never had one arrive in a campervan called Helen Mirren...until now! Heart of BS13 is a charity dedicated to tackling food insecurity, driving climate action and pioneering green education in Hartcliffe and Withywood 💚 With our shared commitment to sustainability and enhancing education opportunities in the Bristol community, they're the perfect fit to run our family wreath workshops next week.
