Today we're proud to be one of 12 London hospices taking part in Hospice UK's #ThisIsHospiceCare campaign, to raise awareness of the vital difference gifts in Wills make to the care we provide to today’s and future generations of Londoners.💛 Each one of our nurses holds an item that represents what hospice care means to them, from gardening tools and pet therapy, to memory boxes and cake. Today we are celebrating Saint Joseph's Day! On this special day dedicated to our patron saint, we held our annual Long Service Awards to honour our longest-serving staff members and volunteers. This afternoon, many staff and volunteers received awards for 5, 10 and 20 plus years of service! Our longest-serving award recipient today was Lolita, who has been working with us at St Joseph's for an incredible 45 years! What a fantastic achievement! 🏆 We are deeply grateful to each of our staff members and volunteers. It's thanks to all of you that we can continue providing the highest standard of care for our patients 👏💙 #StJosephsDay #LongServiceAwards #StJosephsHospice

To mark #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek (17th–23rd March), St Joseph's was joined today by the wonderful Zoe Andrews who came to visit the hospice and talk to our staff! 👋 Zoe shared her experiences of living and working as a neurodiverse person, discussing her journey before and after diagnosis. She gave insight into her experiences with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism, and shared how she's navigated challenges in the workplace and parenthood. Zoe's words and the following discussion were both deeply insightful. A massive thank you to Zoe and the LD Friends Network for organising this event and raising awareness! ✨ #StJosephsHospice #LDFriends #Neurodiversity

Today is International Women’s Day, a day to highlight and celebrate the achievements of women around the world! 🌍 At St Joseph’s Hospice, our story began over 120 years ago with five remarkable sisters who dedicated their lives to caring for the sick and dying in London’s East End. Their legacy lives on through the incredible women, our staff, volunteers, and patients, who make St Joseph’s the special place it is today. Thank you to every woman in the St Joseph’s Hospice community. We are so grateful for all of you! 💙 #InternationalWomensDay #IWD #StJosephsHospice

We've been extra busy throughout February, celebrating LGBT+ History Month at St Joseph’s Hospice! 🌈✨ Our LGBTQIA+ network has been hosting talks, a book club, and creating this colourful and informative display, which you'll have spotted if you’ve visited our hub recently! A huge thank you to our fabulous speakers: EastEnders actor, politician, and activist Lord Michael Cashman CBE, and trans activist and author Ash Hayhurst, for their inspiring talks. We’re also incredibly grateful to The Dusty Knuckle and Forno for generously donating delicious pastries and bread for our Meet the Network event! 🧁 We are very proud of our amazing LGBTQIA+ network at St Joseph’s Hospice. Thank you for making this month so meaningful, and for your dedication and hard work all year round. 💙🏳️🌈 #LGBTHistoryMonth #LGBTQIA #Inclusivity #StJosephsHospice

We had an amazing team of volunteers from NAB and InfraRed Capital Partners Ltd visit us last week to help our Five Sisters Retail® team prepare for last Saturday's £1 Sale. 🛍 The team hung up rails upon rails of preloved bargains and piled tables high with clothes, shoes and other goodies, all ready for shoppers to arrive. It was wonderful to see some familiar NAB faces back at the hospice and to welcome InfraRed for the first time – we hope it's the first of many! Thank you, NAB and InfraRed ❤ #NAB #NationalAustraliaBank #InfraRedCapitalPartners #CorporateVolunteering #StJosephsHospice

Behind the scenes 🎥 Ten hospice nurses from across the city came together in Central London to call on Londoners to leave a gift in their will as part of the #ThisIsHospiceCare campaign, which brings together 143 hospices across England, Scotland and Wales. New data from Hospice UK suggests legacy donations to hospices fund the equivalent of 6,000 hospice nurses in Great Britain every year. The 12 London hospices that have come together in this campaign serve a population of millions of Londoners and directly care for over 25,000 people every year and their loved ones. That’s enough people to fill more than 280 London double decker buses.❤️ You can find out more about the campaign and how you can leave a legacy for London at https://lnkd.in/eXU6bTHj #ThisIsHospiceCare 📸 Photos: Matt Alexander/PA Media Assignments Community Hospice, Royal Trinity Hospice, Saint Francis Hospice, St Christopher's, St Luke's Hospice Harrow & Brent, North London Hospice, Harlington Hospice Association Limited, Michael Sobell House, Shooting Star Children's Hospices, ellenor Charity, Demelza Charity, Noah's Ark Children's Hospice, Hospice UK
