It just goes to show that some people would climb mountains to support St Luke’s! 🏔 Huge congratulations to Josh Lowe who has just climbed a staggering 5364 metres to reached Everest Base Camp. It has taken the 21-year-old 12 days to complete the epic challenge, during which he has burned over 25,000 calories. Josh is part of the Oakmere Wealth Management family in Cuddington, who very kindly chose to support St Luke’s throughout 2024 as their Charity of the Year, with a target of raising £10,000 for patient care. This week and next, staff from The Hut Group in Northwich are lending a helping hand in our Furniture and Fashion shop in Winsford. On Monday, Assistant Manager Francesca Hawkin (pictured far left) was joined by Georgia, Nadia, April and Lexi, who took no time in learning the ropes and getting stuck in to their new-found roles. Over this fortnight, twenty members of staff from the Gadbrook Park base will swap their day-to-day jobs to support our Delemere Street shop and THG Senior Customer Experience Manager Georgia Bird explained why they wanted to help: ‘Over the years, the Hospice has been brilliant for friends and family, and as a group we really wanted to put something back. Today has proved to be really insightful and meaningful, knowing the work we are doing is ultimately going to a fantastic cause.’ #ThankyouThursday

As we plan our special Light up a Life service at the Hospice this Christmas, we are so grateful for the ongoing support of Birches Crematorium and Remembrance Park in Northwich. Birches have once again kindly sponsored our Light up a Life service which will be held at the Hospice on Sunday 1st December at 4.30pm. Back in August, our online Summer Auction proved a great success, raising almost £5,000 for patient care. Over the past few weeks, our winning bidders have started taking their ‘money can’t buy’ experiences, which included a trip down the Winsford Salt Mines courtesy of Compass Minerals, a VIP tour of the Bentley Motors factory in Crewe and a day behind the scenes at Joseph Heler Cheese.
