We’re here. On the streets. Every day and every night. Rain or shine. Helping people bounce back from homelessness, for good. We’ve launched our first brand advertising campaign – We’re Here. We’ve known for years at St Mungo’s that public profile is key to achieving our ambitions. We’ve also known that we’ve had some catching up to do, with public perceptions not matching the extensive work we do on the frontline. This year a perfect storm of the right timing, insight data and agency partners Red Stone and Medialab Group, has made this campaign possible. The creative focus is on our positive action, with the simple message that we are there when people need us, which is deeply true to us and what we want to be known for. This site opposite the Old Vic Theatre is one of our favourites. If you’ve always wondered what we do, now’s the perfect time to find out more. https://lnkd.in/e5_BAixZ #Homelessness #RoughSleeping #CharityComms #StMungosIsHere #Advertising

Ending homelessness, rebuilding lives
About us
We're a charity working to end homelessness and rebuild lives in England. 🏡 We work directly with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing them with services to find paths away from the homelessness, for good. 📣 We influence policy makers to make positive change, through the power of our clients’ voices and our operational expertise. Last year we helped more than 28,000 people across 160 services. Our services meet our clients where they are, from rough sleeping support and emergency accommodation, to finding a longer-term home, and helping people to learn new skills, find jobs and reconnect.

Hoping to help people experiencing homelessness this winter but not sure how? Run a fundraiser for us. If you work for an organisation, are a member of a community group, congregation at a church or part of a sports team; get in touch and we can give you some ideas. We provide collection buckets. 🗣️ “You’ve got to wear three coats – the cold weather kills so many people”. After a relationship breakdown, William found himself homeless, and then quickly began to struggle with alcohol for 19 years. 🍺 He tried to stop drinking four times. He spent two years sleeping rough in a bowling green. Despite the cold and isolation, he kept going. 🧡 Then we stepped in. With our help, William found a safe place and began his recovery. On 10 November, he celebrated six years sober! 🏠 Now, with his own flat and family back in his life, William is proof that hope and support can turn things around. https://bit.ly/3Ytuk9u #TimeToRespond #Homelessness

Once again this year, The White Company have launched their brilliant Charity Christmas Cards to fundraise for St Mungo's. Each card pack of 12 features a variety of different festive-inspired illustrations designed exclusively for the cards, and 10% of each pack sold during the festive season will be donated towards supporting St Mungo’s key outreach teams. The cards have proved so popular that they’ve been flying off the shelves! If you want to pick up a pack, you can purchase them through the link below or find them in stores across the UK. https://lnkd.in/esMAAiYB

🚶 Our outreach teams are working harder than ever to keep up with the increasing number of people on the streets. So when #BradleyRiches and Jo Emerson offered to join our outreach team in the early hours of the morning, we couldn’t say no. ⏰ At 6 AM, they were out on the streets, witnessing first-hand the vital work we’re doing to support people sleeping rough. 📈The fact is 27% more people are sleeping rough than this time last year. The problem is getting worse. Now is the #TimeToRespond Your support could mean a safe place to sleep, a hot meal and keeps us out there on the frontline. https://lnkd.in/eMvtvyc5 #TimeToRespond #EndHomelessness #heartstopper #bradleyriches #joemerson

🗣️ "There’s nothing nicer than locking your front door behind you and knowing you’re safe." Meet Denise. Her story shows the strength and perseverance needed to overcome homelessness, especially when living with a disability. 🏚️ After suffering a brain injury, Denise was left homeless. For weeks, she slept rough in her wheelchair outside a hospital and train station, with nowhere safe to go. 🧡 With help from St Mungo’s and her caseworker, Denise finally secured her own flat and continues to receive much-needed support. This morning, BBC Breakfast covered Angela Rayner's visit to one of our London services, discussing alongside our Chief Executive, Emma Haddad, the steps needed to address the homelessness crisis. You can read more on BBC News - https://lnkd.in/ewqqW9HH #Homelessness #EndHomelessness

Earlier this week, Deputy Prime Minister, Angela Rayner, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, visited one of St Mungo’s services in London to discuss the need for support and the emergency £2.7million fund for homelessness. We welcome the continued support from the Government and are pleased that they recognise that the homelessness crisis is an emergency. The winter months can be even more challenging as temperatures drop so this funding is welcome. However, to make tangible progress on ending homelessness, investment must be long-term and sustainable to enable long-term work to end homelessness to be the most impactful. https://lnkd.in/ewbXqHGE #EndHomelessness #Homelessness #UKGovernment

Today, our Chief Executive, Dr Emma Haddad met with Homelessness Minister, Rushanara Ali to discuss the work that is needed to tackle homelessness. We are pleased that there will be a cross-departmental approach to ending homelessness and we are ready to contribute our service expertise and client experiences. In addition, Emma gave evidence at the Housing, Communities & Local Government Committee Inquiry into Children in Temporary Accommodation this morning, discussing the complex routes into homelessness, pathways to recovery and the Government’s work to tackle homelessness. https://lnkd.in/ehpu_RTH
