CO2-free solution on rails: FLIRT Akku   At InnoTrans Stadler will present one of its 44 vehicles for Deutsche Bahn and public transport authority ZÖPNV Süd, set to operate CO2-free on the south-west German Palatinate network. These new trains will gradually replace the current diesel vehicles.   On electrified sections of track, the innovative FLIRT Akku runs under a catenary like a traditional electric multiple unit. When the catenary ends, the vehicle switches to battery power. The specified range in battery-only mode is at least 80 kilometres, plus an operational reserve. The top speed is 140 km/h, and an air-sprung chassis ensures a smooth ride for passengers.   The two-car FLIRT Akku for the Palatinate network is slightly longer than the standard FLIRT and offers space for a total of 325 people. The multiple unit is air-conditioned, equipped with WiFi, and has spacious multifunctional compartments in each boarding area.   Presentation of the FLIRT Akku for the Deutsche Bahn Palatinate network Track T10/40, 26 September 2024, 11:00 Messe Berlin   #FLIRT #Stadler #InnoTrans2024 #SustainableMobility #Innovation #GreenTechnology

Stadler to display Class 99 locomotive at InnoTrans 2024 We’re thrilled to be showcasing a Class 99 bi-mode Co’Co’ locomotive at InnoTrans 2024, thirty of which are being manufactured for Beacon Rail and GB Railfreight. This trail-blazing vehicle was the first order of its type in the UK and builds on the success of the EURODUAL six-axle locomotives Stadler has supplied for clients in continental Europe. Designed to run using fuel or overhead electricity, the Class 99 heralds a new generation of locomotives, set to revolutionise freight transport in the UK. A powerful, low-emissions Stage-V engine means that it can serve non-electrified lines, and its outstanding tractive effort of 6,000 kW in electric mode and up to 500 kN in diesel mode ensures high hauling capability and performance. These dazzling new locomotives will supercharge the shift from road to rail. They are testament to Stadler’s commitment to a greener and more efficient railway, underscoring the vital role we can play in decarbonisation and achieving net zero. Class 99 presentation Track T04/19, 25 September 2024, 11:00 Messe Berlin https://lnkd.in/gmCyuUv7 #Stadler #Class99 #InnoTrans2024 #BeaconRail #GBRailfreight #Sustainability #GreenTechnology
