  • 🔹 Property and Financial Affairs Powers of Attorney 🔹 You may be shocked to learn that it is now common for banks to freeze joint bank accounts once they become aware of a loss of mental capacity for one of the joint parties. It can also be problematic to sell property and especially so where joint tenancy of a home has been severed. Investments cannot be altered even if they are performing poorly. If this resonates with you, you do need Power of Attorney. Without being appointed as attorneys under a LPA those who would be trying to help them in difficult circumstances will not have any authority to manage their affairs. Where a local authority cannot access a person’s funds to pay for their care they may themselves apply to the Court of Protection requesting the Court to appoint a professional deputy. The cost implications are very significant as the professional deputy is remunerated at pre-agreed rates from the assets of the person concerned. https://lnkd.in/gmpc_MUX #LPAs #PowersOfAttorney #StanfordLegal

  • If you have asked yourself “Why do I need a Will?”, this page is for you: https://lnkd.in/eBAeK_ZU 📝 It is simply not safe to assume that by having no Will your assets will still go to the people that you wish to inherit. Without a Will your estate would be subject to the laws of intestacy, a strict set of rules provided by the government. Instead of this we recommend that you instruct a bespoke Will with the benefit of professional advice. This way you can ensure that the correct people benefit and to the maximum amount possible, avoiding disputes, delays, unnecessary taxes and other avoidable losses. 📞: 01903 340186 📧: info@stanfordlegal.co.uk #Wills #WillWriting #Worthing #WestSussex
