It was fantastic to host such a dynamic group of founders, investors, and ecosystem builders at Thursday’s event. Had a great time attending my first Startup Grind London event this evening. Some takeaways from the investor panel discussion, - Startup with well defined ICPs have still been able to grow over the last 2 years, some over 200% YoY. - Solo founders with a good team that is equity incentivised can still work. Founding teams with more than 4 are less likely to raise at series A.  - In a pitch, VCs prioritize your ability to sell the business over their personal liking of the idea. You must demonstrate proof of your capability to sell to both customers and future investors. - The Gen AI sector holds promise but may lead to wasted investor funds. Investors look for startups utilizing Gen AI to enhance margins as a validation. - University spinout founders can struggle with commercialisation of idea/product.
