The future is here. Our brand new Apex 2.0 suite of technology is rolling out to our teams across elite sport. The new Apex 2.0 unit is built with RTK (real time kinematics) technology that provides a level of sophistication and accuracy that’s never been seen in the wearables industry before. Positioning can be calculated to the centimetre. It also has an onboard processor that calculates in real-time, with that live data being the only independently and peer-reviewed as correlating 100% with post-session downloading data in the industry, meaning practitioners can implicitly trust the data and communicate it confidently with coaching staff and players. Our new Smart Beacon is also built with RTK, and provides a level of coverage up to 3 times that of the industry standard. That’s just with one beacon - not 2-3. A beautiful spring (winter!) day for a STATSports group walk! WFH on Fridays so we all split up and met in Rostrevor, Belfast, Lurgan, and Carlingford - Chicago office had to give it a miss given the inclement weather 🤣

It's been a busy time at STATSports, but just a little reminder that in the last 3 months we have: - Introduced a new Sprint Analysis tool that allows practitioners to test large groups of athletes in a single sprint effort and get customisable time/distance splits on each player in one go, removing the need for traditional timing gates. Between running the group sprint and calculating the data in our software, the workflow effort takes about 55 seconds. - Introduced a new Force Velocity Profiling tool that allows practitioners to rapidly understand whether an athlete needs to work on their top end speed or acceleration, and design targeted interventions to do so. The FVP calculation within our software takes 8 seconds. - Launched Apex 2.0: a brand new, AI and RTK-powered hardware suite. Apex was already the industry standard-bearer; Apex 2.0 is faster, accurate and more powerful, and the advanced in-built AI and RTK will bring a level of sophistication, automation and analysis that the wearables industry has never seen before. New research from Ronan Kavanagh et al suggests that out of Maximal Aerobic Speed (MAS), Maximal Sprint Speed (MAS), and Anaerobic Speed Reserve (ASR), using the latter metric was the most effective predictor/indicator of increased fitness in elite youth soccer players. In layman’s terms, ASR is the speed between how fast an athlete can run at peak speed, and the lowest speed they run at in which VO2 Max occurs. STATSports APEX technology was used in the research carried out, allowing Kavanagh to accurately monitor & individualise training loads and thresholds for the players. Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025 in style at STATSports 💅 #IWD25

College Football’s roster turnover is becoming an increasingly important and challenging aspect when it comes to athlete monitoring. With the transfer portal, NFL Draft, and graduation, college football rosters change drastically every year. - Transfers: ~5.9% of all Division I players enter the portal annually. - Graduation: ~20-25% of rosters turn over as seniors move on. - NFL Draft: ~1-2% declare early or get drafted. - Other Departures (injuries, academics, etc.): ~3-5% - Total annual roster turnover? Approximately 30-38%, meaning nearly one-third of a team is different every season. With so much change, legacy data is becoming less valuable. The focus is shifting toward real-time, accurate and reliable data to track player performance, workload, and being able to communicate it confidently with players and other key coaching staff members. ✅ How do teams maintain consistency and culture with such high turnover? ✅ How should analytics adapt when player data resets yearly? ✅ How can technology bridge gaps in player development?
