We were privileged to work with Sky News and Hospice UK to raise awareness of the importance of hospice care. Featuring one of our incredible nurses, the story gives real insight into the difference we make every day for over 1,800 people, including people like Tim. Sadly, due to inadequate funding, essential end-of-life care is not available to everyone and hospices across the UK are being forced to make cuts to their services. With an Assisted Dying bill being introduced in the House of Commons today, there is increased conversation about death and dying. It’s so important we consider the full picture – good hospice care is an essential part of that.

Everyone should have access to end of life care and support when they need it and there is widespread agreement that hospices are best placed to provide this. Sadly, due to inadequate funding, this essential care is not available to everyone and hospices across the UK are being forced to make cuts to their services. As the home of the modern hospice movement, we're standing up for hospices across the country as the current funding crisis takes hold. Yesterday, we were in Parliament meeting with dozens of MPs as part of #HospiceCareWeek alongside Hospice UK. MPs were invited to learn more about end-of-life care and the stark reality of our current funding model as part of a pop-up hospice charity shop event. One of our nurses, Eva Trowers, told politicians about her role leading a team of community nurses who support people in their own homes.
