We are deeply saddened to hear news of the sudden passing of Brian O’Neill last week. Brian worked for Steadmans for 14 years as our Regional Sales Manager for Ireland until his retirement at the end of July this year. Brian was a true gentleman and he managed to put the needs of his customers and the business first, whilst always maintaining a gentle sense of humour. Our thoughts are very much with Brian’s wife and family at this sad time.

After an 18-year break, the MCRMA Technical Conference made a triumphant return earlier this week—and wow, what a comeback! 🎉 We faced some real hurdles along the way: a tight budget, uncertain interest, a venue a bit off the beaten path, and a small but mighty team. Yet, I can proudly say the MCRMA team, the speakers, the topics, the engagement, the venue, the food, the attendees, the cars—everything—we absolutely knocked it out of the park! 🙌 The goal was never to educate. We wanted to create a platform for open discussion about the ongoing challenges facing our industry. And thanks to the incredible wealth of knowledge in the room (not just from the speakers), we did more than spark conversation—we learned together. Special shout-out to our speakers, who were exceptional. We had the right voices at the right time, breaking down complex topics. One moment that stuck with me was Natalia’s words: "Our competence is our gift. It’s ours to own, develop, and be proud of." Powerful, right? Taking this bold step wasn’t easy for the MCRMA. How do you convince members to attend? We decided to be bold—hosting it at the facilities of one of the most iconic British brands, (thank you Morgan Motors, and thank you Mark Fenton for the genius suggestion!). And, in the spirit of community, we offered the knowledge, experience, and platform to our members as part of their membership, not as an additional extra. So, I want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who made this event the success it was. Fingers crossed, this is just the beginning and the MCRMA conference will become a staple in the industry calendar.
