Recently, I had a conversation with a teacher from a local school who shared how much the children love playing outdoors. This inspired me to find a way to contribute, using a repurposed tractor tire, locally sourced quarry stone, and a few hours of effort—to create a construction play area for the children. It’s a simple gesture, but seeing the joy it brings to the children reinforces why giving back matters. It would be an understatement to call the findings in the attached report profoundly concerning—they are of critical and urgent significance. Once again, the report highlights the grave issue of substandard PPE failing to meet essential safety standards, putting wearers at serious risk. Just because you can purchase safety-critical items anywhere doesn’t mean you should—doing so compromises safety and exposes users to unnecessary danger. Headline Findings (not exhaustive): > Safety Gloves: 95% failure rate (21 products) Failed claims for cut protection, abrasion resistance, and puncture resistance, leaving wearers vulnerable to mechanical injuries. > Head Protection: 100% failure rate (6 products) Failed resistance to penetration and shock absorption tests, potentially allowing impacts to penetrate helmets or transfer excessive force to the wearer’s head. > Eye, Face, and Fall Protection: 100% failure rate (13 products) Failed impact resistance tests, increasing the risk of severe injuries from foreign objects or compromised fall protection mechanisms. At Stop'N'Go, following our BSIF/RSSS audit, our 40189 Stop'N'Go Cut F Sandy Nitrile Coated Glove successfully met all indicative compliance testing standards. The testing was conducted at a UKAS-approved laboratory, strictly adhering to specified test methods and PPE regulations.
