Our Vision: ‘No Young-Adults Living Harmful Lifestyles’ Our Mission: Reducing harm:Transforming lifestyles Streets of Growth is an outcome driven, community based organisation working across the borough of Tower Hamlets where our name is our aim. We are leading edge interventionists where the difference is in our detail. We work intensively, and tirelessly re-engaging young-adults aged 15-24 who are stuck, often struggling in poverty, harm and violence; disconnected to regeneration opportunities. Our uniqueness and impacts are due to the way we design and seamlessly interweave outcome driven life skills coaching with ‘tailor made’ project programming of entrepreneurial and employability skills, along-side relentless outreach and targeted street work intervention, thus,disrupting the cycle of gangs, violence, criminality and hopelessness amongst young communities and equipping young adults with the skills and resilience to thrive sociallyand economically.

A message from our CEO Diane Peters "The first year of our Charity partnership with St William and St James has been transformative for the young people and families we serve. This collaboration has significantly increased access to opportunities, providing mentorship, skills training, and employment for those young people facing barriers such as hidden young carers and young people experiencing exploitation and violence. Together, in this partnership we have improved vulnerable young people’s quality of life and contributed to the economic and social well-being of our young communities in Tower Hamlets. We are grateful for the unwavering support and dedication of St William and St James teams, and we look forward to working in partnership and achieving even greater milestones in the coming year."
Our fantastic teams at St James and St William have been celebrating a successful first year of partnership with Streets of Growth, a young-adult outreach and intervention charity in Tower Hamlets that re-engages at-risk and vulnerable young adults aged between 15-25. To mark the milestone we recently presented a £20,000 donation, raised during the Big Half marathon, which was part of a series of fundraising events, including a charity netball tournament, bake sales, and a "Wear It Green" day for Mental Health Awareness Week. With additional support from the Berkeley Foundation our total contribution to the charity has now exceeded £45,000, with our teams have also provided hands-on support to Streets of Growth programmes through hosting site tours, a careers insight seminar, workshops and awards evenings. We have learnt a huge amount by working alongside this fantastic Tower Hamlets charity offering vital one-on-one coaching and mentorship, and providing a safe environment for young adults to feel heard, trusted, and empowered. Before an ‘If Only’ showing, we gave a questionnaire to some of our young people to find out what they already knew about topics touched in the short film. Harsh realities faced by young people like debt bondage, sexual exploitation, gang violence, and county lines are highlighted. The results were eye-opening and shows the importance of getting support. 🎉 Celebrating 23 Years of Streets of Growth! In 2001, with just £10 and two chairs, Darren, Diane and Lucky co-founded Streets of Growth, a youth intervention charity dedicated to empowering young people aged 15-25. Through innovative impactful programmes, including employability, lifestyle coaching, mentoring, and work experience opportunities they have transformed countless lives. Today, we proudly celebrate 23 years of impact, having directly equipped over 5,500 young people to pursue fulfilling careers. Streets of Growth has become a unique, safe haven for youth from diverse backgrounds to make significant changes in their lives. Darren, Diane and Lucky, along with our incredible team of staff and volunteers - many of whom are former service users - continue to provide the resources, funding, and support needed to sustain our mission. Despite the challenges, especially for those leading complex, street-involved lives, the journey is incredibly rewarding. With our new premises secured on a long lease, amazing partnerships old and new, our future is brighter than ever.
