We create welcoming places where people choose to be.

About us

Founded in 2019, we are a London based Architecture and Interior Design studio, currently working with industry leading clients in the workspace, hospitality, science and education sectors. All our projects, across every sector, are driven by a commitment to two essential pillars—people and planet. We merge the disciplines of Architecture and Interiors to create design-led, beautiful and functional buildings. We believe a visually appealing exterior is not enough without an interior that meets the needs of its users. Architecture defines a building's form, while interiors shape its experience. By connecting these aspects, we create buildings that feel complete, meaningful and holistically considered. Our design philosophy emphasises more than just appearance; it includes careful attention to layouts, form, materials, details and environmental impact. We aim to create places that foster well-being, productivity, and belonging, drawing on our expertise for effective solutions to suit each project case. Our goal is to enrich lives and create valued, lasting places. With a commitment to quality, we strive to elevate architectural standards, transforming buildings into vibrant places that invite people back time after time.

Studio Sutton are delighted to share a glimpse of the recently completed, cutting-edge 33,000 sqft laboratory facility at 20 Triton Street, Regent’s Place. This state-of-the-art space has been developed through a strategic partnership between British Land and The Francis Crick Institute. Working in collaboration with Bulb Interiors, Laboratories & Consulting, and the wider project team including Gensler, we shaped and developed the design, taking it from the concept stage to completion. The result is an inviting, inspiring, and future-proofed environment tailored to the needs of the scientific community. 🔬 The fully serviced and fitted lab space includes dedicated write-up areas, collaboration zones, and shared amenities, all designed to foster creativity, encourage collaboration, and support pioneering research. With built-in flexibility, the space is ready to adapt to the evolving needs of future tenants. 👏 A huge well done to everyone involved! 📸 "A photo captures a moment, but a 3D isometric tells a story." 📐 How we create spaces that unlock potential. Too often, space planning is reduced to a tick-box exercise, driven purely by commercial targets rather than a true balance between efficiency and the real needs of the people who will inhabit the space. But great design isn’t just about squeezing in more desks or maximising square footage. It’s about creating environments that feel intuitive, inspiring, and comfortable; designed for how people actually live and move. When space planning is done right, every corner serves a purpose, circulation flows effortlessly, and the result is both functional and inviting. It’s not luck; it’s a skill! Done poorly? You get wasted space, inefficiency, and frustration. Worse still, bad planning leads to premature redundancy, forcing unnecessary redesigns and demolitions, which is neither cost-effective nor sustainable. At Studio Sutton, we take a meticulous approach to design, ensuring every layout unlocks the full potential of a building. We explore every option to reach the optimum solution, because good space planning isn’t just about today, but about longevity and adaptability. And to help our clients fully visualise their spaces, we use 3D isometric drawings to bring them to life, illustrating not just the structure, but the entire experience of how everything connects and flows together. It’s a key part of our process and a powerful way to communicate the true potential of a space. ⭐ Curious to learn more? Let’s chat. • The Unbuilt Collection: House of Education 'The Ones That Got Away' Next up in this series, we have a look back at our thought piece and ideas competition entry that explores the fusion between vacant retail space left by department store closures, and a growing pressure to provide new schools within cities. Through a competition organised by RIBA Journal and the Department for Education, our proposal theoretically looks at how the former 'House of Fraser' Department Store on London's Oxford Street could become a new Secondary School and Sixth Form College, taking advantage of the existing real estate available. We are proud to have been long listed in our submission and provide a contribution to the wider debate surrounding the re-use of former department stores. Whilst this project won’t go on to be realised, could it serve as an interesting case study for other sites? 318 Oxford Street in reality is being converted into new office space by Publica Properties. 📞 “Alex, we need your teams help. If we don’t get this right, we’ll be chased out of the city.” I’ll never forget our client’s call. Even though in good humour, it was a challenge we eagerly accepted. By blending the building’s ornate heritage with a contemporary sensibility, we transformed a 19th century neoclassical former bank in Stockholm’s Old Town into a 29,000-square-foot, hotel-style workplace with shared amenities. For Studio Sutton timeless design always prevails. Faced with an already stunning canvas — high ceilings, intricate detailing, and rich architectural features — we chose to carefully celebrate its beauty rather than compete with it. At Lilla Nygatan 23, the result is a refined, minimal aesthetic that complements the building’s lavish character. We introduced natural materials, classic colourways, and brass accents to create a warm and welcoming environment. One that inspires and comforts in equal measure across a variety of settings. An array of carefully curated contemporary furniture classics from GUBI, Artek, Vitra, HAY, and &Tradition, paired with warm lighting from Flos, complete a space that feels thoughtfully balanced and beautifully inviting. Happily, the challenge paid off: this project now serves as a dynamic hub for multiple businesses in the heart of Stockholm and was a finalist at the Mix Interiors Awards 2024. It also serves as a great example that heritage assets can cater to the modern business community if handled appropriately. ⭐️ If this interested you, we’d love to explore how we can help bring your next vision to life. • Stortorvet 7 is a landmark development in Oslo that epitomises the transformation of outdated commercial real estate into an inspirational and thriving business destination that caters to the needs of the modern workplace. S7 was developed by Schage Eiendom AS and is home to EY, Huddly and Spaces. offices | co-working | meeting rooms. Studio Sutton designed an internal experience that covers over 82,000sqft of reception lobby, cafe, communal workspace, flex offices, meeting space and shared amenity. Through adaptive re-use, innovative design and meticulous attention to detail, Stortorvet 7 became a symbol of our philosophy. #Stortorvet7 #RealEstate #Design #Architecture 📽️ 📸 Jim Stephenson

  • The Unbuilt Collection: Episode 1 Every journey begins with a single step, and in 2019 for Studio Sutton, that step was at 68 King William Street. Set across 8 floors of a former House of Fraser department store in the City of London, we provided a design for over 70,000sqft of co-working and flexible office space. Whilst the fate of this project was served by the Covid-19 pandemic, it still encapsulates our timeless and considered design philosophy which we continue to apply today. #Throwback #StudioSutton
