In case you missed it… We recently had the incredible opportunity to speak on BBC Two’s Politics Live about the Autumn Budget 2024 and how it could help tackle fuel poverty. 📺💬 As a company providing free Home Energy Visits for some of society’s most vulnerable individuals, we felt a deep responsibility to represent their voices. 🤝 With fuel poverty figures doubling from 3 million to 6.5 million in just four years, the urgency for action is undeniable! Represented by our Director, Sarah, our message to the government was clear: energy assistance must be a priority. ⚡ We advocated for an increase in the Warm Homes Discount and for broader eligibility criteria to ensure more families and individuals can receive the help they so desperately need. Whilst the budget didn’t deliver the level of support we had hoped for, it reinforces the importance of organisations like ours in bridging the gap and supporting those who are struggling. 🎥 Watch the interview in full now https://lnkd.in/etdtfDbC And in case you missed our round-up of the key energy announcements from the budget, you can read those here: https://lnkd.in/eR5MDSws Let’s continue to raise awareness and push for meaningful change. Together, we can help ensure no one is left behind when it comes to energy support. 🌍💚 BBC News #FuelPoverty #WarmHomesDiscount #AutumnBudget2024 #GreenEnergySwitch #HomeEnergy

Celebrating #LivingWageWeek with PECT and HELP (Helping Empower Lives in Peterborough) Our Business Board Chair Al Kingsley visited two living wage employers in Peterborough to celebrate and discuss the positive impact of being a real living wage employer - not just on the lives of their employees but also on the resilience and success of their organisations. By committing to fair wages, employers boost morale, reduce turnover and create a stronger workplace culture. 💼 #LivingWage

We had a great day at Castor last week with volunteers from Caterpillar Inc. and our friends from the Langdyke Countryside Trust. 🌳Together, we cleared a neglected footpath, transplanted about 50 young trees, and prepared ground for a new tree nursery and wildflower meadow by clearing invasive prickly ox tongue and pesky ragwort. 🦋Our new tree nursery and native wildflower ‘bank’ at Tween Towns will support our local tree-planting efforts and help us create resilient, biodiverse wildflower meadows around #Peterborough and the wider John Clare Countryside. Watch this space for more project updates! 👏Huge thanks to everyone who turned up and got stuck in. We couldn’t have made so much progress without you. Impactful branding, engaging marketing, low-carbon websites & green hosting for purpose-led SME's | Creating good work for good people

We had a great first focus group session last night in #Peterborough, gaining valuable insights from local residents in relation to the new #NetZero project we're working on with the team at PECT and Peterborough City Council. Tonight we have our online focus group and tomorrow will be our in-person, business oriented focus group. If you haven't signed up yet and you live or work in the Peterborough area please do come along to either event to help shape this new project. All opinions are welcome and we want to hear from as many of you as we can so we build something that really pushes the local sustainability needle forward. Grab your spot at either event here - https://lnkd.in/eAWnQ5rt P.S. Food will be provided at the in-person event on Thursday and we will also be able to cover travel costs.
