World Wellness Weekend and World Cleanup Day (WCD) have signed a cooperation agreement to combine the collective power of their global networks ahead of this year’s respective campaigns on 20 Sept, the UN Calendar day for WCD! Unifying mutual strengths creates unprecedented cooperation, when the human race most needs to protect our inner and outer environments. Since 2018, WCD has averaged 15M+ participants each year, from a total of 211 countries and territories, and cleaned up 543,704 tons of waste. Congratulations to Hoarcross Hall and Eden Hall in reaching the gold standard for spa sustainability with Sustainable Wellness Both properties owned and run by Barons Eden - Hotel and Spa Collection have invested their efforts into sustainability for over two years by integrating environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical governance into their operations with FuturePlus and Sustainable Wellness they not only enhance their guest experience but also contribute positively to the planet and society. These initiatives ensure that Hoar Cross Hall and Eden Hall remain at the forefront of sustainable luxury, offering an indulgent yet conscientious escape for their guests. One of their biggest efforts went into a search for sustainable energy alternatives to reduce the carbon footprint emitted by traditional kerosene boilers. In consultation with renewable energy provider Reheat, it was determined that the year-round heat demand could be met by locally sourced biomass. As a result, Hoar Cross Hall has invested £1.5 million in the installation of a new biomass heating system. This state-of-the-art 1MW biomass heating system comprises two 500kW biomass boilers. The wood fuel will be sustainably sourced from the National Forest, located less than 20 miles from the Spa hotel. This significant investment is set to reduce the hotel and spa’s CO2 emissions by over 40%, marking a major step forward in their sustainability journey. #pathtonetzero #carbonreduction #spa #sustainablespa #gold #standard

In a remarkable achievement, five Ele|Na spa's earned the Silver Standard accreditation in 2023 have now been elevated to the Gold Standard, reflecting significant advancements in their sustainable practices and dedication to eco-friendly operations. This highlights Ele|Na spa company continuous efforts to integrate sustainable practices into every aspect of their operations, from energy efficiency to waste reduction and beyond. Additionally, two more Elena Spas have been accredited for the first time in 2024, achieving the Silver Standard.
