Can Retrofit Improve Your Health? Researchers Are Finding Out! 🔍 A groundbreaking £680,000 study led by Northumbria University is diving deep into how making homes more energy-efficient could positively impact our health and wellbeing. In collaboration with Newcastle City Council, Newcastle University, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the research team is closely monitoring air quality in 90 homes across Newcastle, both before and after energy-efficient upgrades. The aim? To ensure that our efforts to reach net-zero emissions don’t just make homes greener but also foster healthier living spaces. It’s an exciting step forward in showing how energy-saving retrofits can improve both the environment and the lives of residents! 😷🌱

Innovative training and employment programmes that: 💼 Provide full-time jobs with hands-on training 📈 Boost local economies and create opportunities 🛠️ Ensure high-quality retrofits with an inclusive approach Glasgow City Council is setting an example by co-owning Glasgow City Homes, directly training 245 apprentices. If more local authorities follow suit, we can create jobs, tackle climate change, and improve homes nationwide.
