BOOM!💥 Another great scheme delivered by Hive Projects! It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Wyre Forest District Council in bringing this wonderful development to Practical Completion. Acting collaboratively, sensibly, diligently and with real gusto, the client, professional and contracting teams met the challenge and delivered ownership of the 20 new temporary accommodation units at Mill Pond House, Castle Road, Kidderminster yesterday. This building will act as a real asset and gamechanger in helping those most in need. Aside from construction delivery, we harnessed the collective, through engaging fully in a busy schedule of Social Value delivery; local volunteering, social engagement, showcasing school art work, providing interview experience initiatives, a walk and litter pick etc. All these actions have helped raise homelessness awareness and charitable funding. This project has provided a superb opportunity to work with some wonderful people across the whole project journey. Yesterday we had the incredible opportunity to visit The University of Salford Energy House Labs 2.0 to see first-hand how pioneering research is driving the future of energy-efficient, carbon-neutral buildings. It was fascinating to understand how the different heating systems react to varying temperatures—shedding light on real-world performance in diverse climates. We’re eager to see how the buildings perform during the upcoming overheating studies, a crucial step in designing comfortable, resilient spaces. Also looking forward to the soon-to-be-published energy performance results from the various hot water generation systems—game-changing insights for sustainable design!
