Wishing a happy new year to all our valued clients and followers! While most of us were winding down over Christmas and New Year, the team at TAG Construction Ltd, working alongside our valued client BAM UK & Ireland, took on the challenge of transforming Agar Bridge—a vital but ageing link above the bustling railway lines at Agar Grove. Built in the 1800s, Agar Bridge is a snapshot of Victorian engineering, with its two-span superstructure of girders and brickwork jack arches. But time and traffic have taken their toll. Beneath the bridge, six railway lines serve routes such as St Pancras to Bedford, with a train passing roughly every two minutes. Above, the intersection of Murray Street, St Augustine’s Road, and Agar Grove forms a lifeline for local communities. Without intervention, the bridge risked unplanned weight restrictions or even closure. Instead, a carefully planned full reconstruction was chosen, replacing the old structure with a composite deck supported by weathering steel beams. This modern approach not only eliminates the need for painted metallic elements but also provides a renewed 120-year design life, making this a sustainable solution for future generations. Over a nine-day blockade, TAG Construction delivered: 1,300m² of reinforced concrete deck 80 tonnes of reinforcement Accomplishing this while trains continued to move below is a testament to careful coordination and the dedication of the team. 🚧 TAG Construction at Gatwick Airport 🚧 We are excited to share that TAG Construction has been working on a project at Gatwick Airport for our client PJ Hegarty & Sons. Our team is replacing PQ concrete bays on various taxiways and stands, with depths ranging from 500 to 550 mm and dimensions of 5 x 5 meters. Our scope of work includes: Preparation work and coring Installation of dowels Placing and finishing PQ concrete This project is being executed in a busy airport environment during the day, with our dedicated team ensuring precision and quality at every step. Today, TAG Construction Ltd pauses to remember and honour all those who gave their tomorrows for our freedom today. We also pay tribute to those who are serving this cause today, often far from the place they call home. Therefore, At the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month, we observe a two-minute silence to mark the end of the First World War and to honour all service personnel, past and present. May we always remember the courage, commitment, and resilience that has shaped our present and preserves our future. Lest we forget.

Gillie Jopling, Group Recruitment Manager Quantum Pharmaceutical Ltd talked about the international work experience the students bring to Quantum, and career progression routes. Jas Dhillon, Contracts Manager at TAG Construction Ltd,  emphasised the importance of soft skills like communication, which are essential for long-term career growth in the UK. IP Student Alisa Gurteva spoke about her role as a Process Engineer at YUV and her supervisor Glenn Porter, Director of Manufacturing, told us how students are helping them fill skills gaps and bring recent skills and technical understanding from their programme to the roles. Our MD Jas Rana added his signature on behalf of TAG Construction Ltd to the pledge to help deliver a skills legacy for the Southeast at the pilot of the Lower Thames Crossing Skills Hubs this week. These skills hubs are vitally important, not just to address the skills shortage that our industry is facing, but to ensure that this project and others like it have a lasting, positive effect on communities, the environment, growth, and the economy.

A valuable event and extremely heartening to see so many signatories to the pledge. It's vital that regions see the benefits of large infrastructure projects, we have an opportunity to create legacies that extend beyond the remit of the project itself.
