We’ve done it again! Thanks to the awesome support from our valued partners: Australia’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Denmark’s EIFO, Japan’s Mizuho Bank, France’s Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, the Bank of China and Germany’s Deutsche Bank, we have successfully raised more debt and validated our bridge to contracting strategy on Stage 2 of our very own Golden Plains wind farm in Victoria, Australia. Like Stage 1, we received the support of lenders to achieve financial close on a fully merchant basis, allowing debt to be raised off the back of quality PPAs, such as the one recently signed by EnergyAustralia. We are grateful to the lenders and advisors: Lazard Australia, Chatham Financial Advisory, ClayMatter, White & Case LLP and King & Wood Mallesons, for the continued trust they have shown in us to be able to continue delivering on our strategy, paving the way for development to proceed at pace and accelerating the delivery of clean energy to homes, businesses and communities. Together, we are making the energy transition happen.

Lights, camera, energisation! It was a golden day for Golden Plains when we started feeding clean electricity into the Victoria grid. And when the turbines started turning, the cameras started rolling. We captured the momentous occasion for our latest Golden Plains video update, including thoughts of stakeholders, from Victoria’s Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio and TagEnergy’s own Andrew Riggs, to local farmer Kevin Blake on what the project means to the local community, the state and our shared future. We’re proud to be Powering Victoria…and we’re proud to share our energisation video with you. It’s short but sweet. And you can watch it here or on our website (www.tag-en.com).

One big project, two big announcements! Golden Plains Wind Farm is Go. The first turbines have started spinning and electricity fed into Victoria’s grid from Stage 1 of our 1,333MW mega-project - the southern hemisphere’s biggest wind farm. Energisation is a monumental achievement after 20 months of construction by a 400-strong workforce, including from our valued partner Vestas who is supplying and installing all 215 turbines. But wait, there’s more. While Stage 1 starts operating to accelerate the energy transition, we have a new investor to share in Stage 2. Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, the world’s biggest IKEA retailer, has taken a 15% stake in Stage 2 - its second investment in our project after taking a similar stake in Stage 1 in 2023 to supports its commitment to reach net-zero by 2050. We’re proud to be building a more renewable future with likeminded partners like Vestas and Ingka Investments at every stage of our projects. You can read more about both announcements here : https://lnkd.in/deaKPaTY (And thank you Lily D’Ambrosio MP and Kevin Blake for switching the wind-farm on!)

We’re energised by this news! Our Lakeside battery energy storage system is now the largest transmission-connected BESS in the UK (for now) after we flicked the switch on energisation and connected to the grid! (Well, after our onsite team and National Grid engineers did.) The 100MW/200MWh energy park in North Yorkshire, England is our first transmission-connected BESS in the UK. We have been working with our trusted partners Habitat Energy, Tesla and RES to bring the value of battery storage to the transition. In many ways, this was a model project in building, energising and connecting a facility efficiently to speed the energy transition. We were able to deliver the project smoothly, and energise and connect on the transmission network without any significant delays or operating issues. Here’s to more of that as we pursue net zero.

Well done to our team and partners!
Partnering with Renewable Energy companies internationally to ensure they have access to the right talent to hit their growth goals | Offshore Wind | Hydrogen | Solar | Energy Storage
Great to see TagEnergy power up the UK's largest transmission-connected battery energy storage system with the Lakeside project in North Yorkshire! Franck Woitiez, CEO of TagEnergy, highlighted it perfectly: 'The Lakeside BESS will be the UK’s largest transmission-connected BESS for a while, signalling that it’s an important project that moves the needle for the energy transition.' Well done to the teams at TagEnergy, Tesla Energy, RES Group RES, and Habitat Energy for this fantastic project. Exciting times ahead! #EnergyStorage #BatteryEnergyStorage #Renewables #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #GridInnovation #CleanEnergy #UKRenewables

Another milestone agreement delivered by our amazing Energy Management team! Louis Blateau and Sam Gard, thank you!
A most Powerful PPA! You want big news? We’ve got big news. EnergyAustralia has signed a landmark 10-year Power Purchase Agreement for around 40% of the energy from Stage 2 of our Golden Plains Wind Farm mega-project. It is the largest offtake agreement signed by Energy Australia, one of Australia’s largest energy retailers and generators with 1.6 million customers. The deal is for up to 345MW of Stage 2’s 577MW capacity, or over 55 turbines, enough to power 178,000 homes and small businesses in Victoria. We’re proud to support decarbonisation of Energy Australia’s generation portfolio through this significant agreement - our first PPA for Stage 2. Like Stage 1, it shows the value of our approach - achieving financial close without PPAs, then progressively contracting the energy during construction and operation. We look forward to delivering clean power to support Energy Australia’s goals when stage 2 is completed in mid-2027.

And the award for best role in a documentary film goes to… The 400-plus workers who are building Golden Plains Wind Farm! They are the stars of our incredible new production, ‘Windcraft. The workers of Golden Plains’. The film is dedicated to the entire workforce building our $4bn mega project, set to be the southern hemisphere’s biggest wind farm. A talented film crew went behind the scenes to capture some of their stories as we work towards putting the finishing touches on construction of Stage 1, from laying cables under the ground to standing on top of a turbine 150 metres above it. The result is a beautifully-crafted,16-minute documentary with majestic cinematography, a brilliant soundtrack, heart and humour. There’s even a battle of Man versus Rock as team member Nathan forges a path through some tough ground (spoiler: the rock didn’t stand a chance). It’s showtime! We invite you to enjoy our film here: https://lnkd.in/dNBhrHmj Film credits: director Hugo Bittar and producers Annabelle Richens and Zoe Fraser.

Roll out the green carpet! Our incredible new film ‘Windcraft. The workers of Golden Plains’ is almost here - and we’ve got a sneak preview to share with you because we just can’t keep it to ourselves any longer. The film is dedicated to every one of the more than 400-strong workforce building our $4bn Golden Plains Wind Farm. As we work towards putting the finishing touches on Stage 1 construction, a team of talented filmmakers joined us for 72 hours to document the incredible workforce behind it. Windcraft is their story.. It is a beautiful record of building the southern hemisphere’s largest wind farm, from stepping inside a massive turbine, to a group of cheeky cows that steal workers’ unattended lunches. While we get the popcorn ready for our documentary’s premiere, we invite you to be among the first to a watch the 90 second trailer here: https://lnkd.in/dcGBfjep (See if you can spot the horse.)
