The London Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) sets a blueprint for tackling skills gaps across the capital by bringing together employers, educators and other key stakeholders to match training supply with employer demand. Originally published last year, the LSIP – delivery of which is led by BusinessLDN alongside Central London Forward, South London Partnership, Local London West London Alliance and West London Business, and in partnership with FSB Westminster (Federation of Small Businesses), London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CBI London – is already starting to have an impact. 📽 Watch our new film about the project to hear from 📽 Katie Wyle of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield West London Retail Skills Hub on how the LSIP supports wide-ranging partnerships. Cara Hodgkins of Build The Way C.I.C on bridging the gap to opportunities in architecture for those with limited exposure to the industry, helping to improve diversity in the sector. Suna Marfé of South Thames College, Tracy Aust of West Thames College and Craig Hurring FRSA of Love Wimbledon Business Improvement District on the LSIP's role in helping training providers to meet business needs. Elizabeth Howard of Quantum Group on rethinking training programmes to suit the requirements of different learners. Adrian Gabriel-Lovell of Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on supporting those who have spent time out of the workforce to find new opportunities. And Rikshita Khela of Vorboss on engaging with the LSIP to "shape the future of our workforce". To read our latest progress report, or to find out how you could get involved, visit: www.businessldn.co.uk/lsip.

Yes - we got to film at the British Library. What a lovely event to film for The Children's Homes Association (The CHA) - with a fantastic line up of inspiring speakers. As bystanders (well filming) at the event, it made us feel very emotional to hear stories of children in care - and even more uplifted that the CHA means business to make change. Congratulations and can’t wait for next year’s event.

This report is part of London's Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) bringing together employers, training providers and London government to improve job prospects for Londoners at a local level. It was also the first official launch of the first of our London LSIP videos which I'm so proud to have made a reality over the last few months. To download the advanced digital skills report and to watch our fantastic video and find out what the LSIP does for London and why it's important, click here: www.businessldn.co.uk/lsip Thanks to the Mayor's Chief Digital Officer Theo Blackwell MBE for giving our keynote, Turner & Townsend for hosting us with the most amazing view of St Paul's just across the road, Stephen Collins, Billy and Jack at Taking the Pixels for so much effort on our much appreciated and commented on video and Clarissa Wheeler for taking this fantastic photo of St Paul's and kindly sharing it with me! We love this photo taken whilst filming this amazing event for Medway Council. Outdoor family events are great for local communities and even better when the weather holds up and the dinosaurs make an appearance 👏🏼

What’s your view on branded wrapped cars? The Taking The Pixels car has been stripped of its glorious branding as we are picking up a new car. So now we are picking up a newer pixel mobile - we will be saying goodbye to the wrapped branding. Should we wrap again or keep as is? It’s great to look professional, and to give clients the confidence that we are a serious business - but is that enough. Most of our jobs we park in a car park and not seen or on trains and tube into London. Would be great to get your views on this and whether this is something you have dabbled in as a small business. To wrap or not to wrap, that is the question… #creativity #videoproduction #photography

Video kit can be an expensive business when a body belt cost £600. But, you can’t put a price on health and safety. And this bit of kit means that we can have the camera on a gimbal all day long with no weight going through our arms - as you can see by Billy Collins and his overworked forearms filming this car for a social media post. Creating super smooth video content is not just about the right cameras and lenses - there are a whole lot of other accessories needed to play supporting roles. And this is just one of many that has to be carried and set up, as well as tripods, lighting, audio, autocue, gimbal, monitor and of course 3x camera bodies and 4x lenses. So one of the most important questions we will ask you when filming a project is… “Any on-site parking” #creativity #videoproduction #photography

'I would love to have video content but I don't have the budget' How many times have we heard this at the very start of a business conversation. And so many are surprised when we tell them that they need hundreds and not thousands of pounds. We at Taking The Pixels are completely transparent when it comes to pricing, and it's the best way to make and keep customers. As well as doing what we say we are going to do - with some added little extras. And if you really don’t have the budget, then let’s talk about photography to get your story out there on your website and socials #creativity #videoproduction #photography

🚀 Partnering with Westminster Children's University, we’re very proud to help fund their activities for children from trips to the beach, theme park, cinema, dance parties, arts and craft days, and many more. 💕 One of our key values within Axis is to support the community. 🌈 We believe that WCU help support local communities in Westminster and the rest of London by bringing projects to life and therefore providing enriching experiences for young people who might not otherwise have access to them. 🙌 Thank you to Taking The Pixels for creating this Axis montage for us. #SocialChange #YouthEmpowerment #Community #London
