“Trust is like the air we breathe – when it’s present, nobody really notices; when it’s absent, everybody notices.” Warren Buffet. Panni P. shares with colleagues in our New Jersey office the essential ingredients for building a successful sponsor-CRO relationship, and TRUST is at the top of the list. In addition to trust, Panni also considers clear, consistent communication and a collaborative culture as essential factors for a successful relationship with our sponsors. Our colleagues gained valuable insights from Panni Patel's timely reminders, drawing from his 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field. Thank you, Panni P.!

"3 in 4 women say menopause has interfered in their lives. 64% say they feel unprepared to handle the symptoms." Tech Observer thank Diana May Kim TAN and Emmy Abdul Alim, founders of Menopause Care Alliance (MCA), for giving a talk on "Menopause in the workplace" to colleagues in our Singapore office. During the talk, our colleagues got to learn more about menopause, its impact on individuals, and the important role that family, colleagues, and businesses play in the menopausal journey. MCA (https://lnkd.in/gyRt3rJp) is an independent, non-profit patient advocacy group committed to building more informed, stronger, healthier lives throughout the menopausal years. To support MCA's work, Tech Observer is donating SGD1,000 to the organisation. Once again, we thank Diana and Emmy for their insights and wish MCA all the best in its mission.

“Perspective on simple living” A sonnet. To live is but to see through varied eyes, For many know, but few will understand. A fleeting glance reveals no truth that lies, In depths where soul and heart make quiet stand. The path of life is simple when it's clear: To care with no demand for what is due, And love without expecting to endear, A heart that beats with nothing asked from you! For joy is found in giving, not in gain, And peace in love that’s free from hope’s constraint. Though life may change with every light and strain, True grace lies in a heart without complaint! Thus, life becomes a gentle, flowing art— A gift of care, a freely given heart.

Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer globally and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. World Lung Cancer Day is observed on 01 Aug every year to raise awareness about this disease. In Singapore, it ranks as the third most common cancer and the top cause of cancer-related deaths. This year, the Lung Cancer Consortium Singapore (LCCS) and the Lung Cancer Education and Advocacy for Patients (LEAP) released a white paper titled "Empowering Asian Lung Cancer Advocates" (https://lnkd.in/grZrvhKg). The white paper draws on global best practices and insights from the Hopeful Voices Patient Advocate Roundtable Meeting, which was hosted by LEAP and the LCCS in late 2023. It sets forth actionable recommendations for patient advocacy groups to address the issues identified and bolster lung cancer advocacy in Singapore. They include: 1. Enhancing patient advocacy for better cancer care 2. Advocate for better access to lung cancer screening 3. Advocate for better access to potentially life-saving treatments and clinical trials Tech Observer medicalcommunications is honoured to have played a part in producing this very meaningful work. We are immensely grateful to the guidance given by the authors and to LEAP and LCCS for allowing us to participate in this initiative.
