Did you know? 🤔💡 A study by Childnet International found that children who practice verbal discussions on online safety are 4 times more likely to apply the same careful, responsible behaviour when communicating online. 🌍💬 Talking about tone, clarity, and respect helps kids navigate the digital world safely and confidently. Creating a space for open discussions—whether at home or in the classroom—can make all the difference! Let’s empower children to use their voices wisely, online and beyond. ✨ #ParentTips #OnlineSafety #DigitalWellbeing #RaisingConfidentKids #TelmiMagic #SafeTechForKids

✨ Learning #1 from co-creating our Kids Podcast Creation App with Educators and Schools We're so grateful to @bromestoneprimary for joining our research project, to measure the impact of podcasting on children with special education needs. A selected group of students with Special Education Needs demonstrated their learnings by creating mini podcasts using Telmi. We've learned that for many students, especially those with SEN, book work can be a barrier to learning (eg. dyslexia). To prepare their podcasts on Telmi, some did and some didn't write, but all of them were able to demonstrate their learning. Amazing! Assistant Head @Kristian Horne said " Telmi speaks to us because it allows children, who would otherwise be daunted by book work, to be having a voice" Stay tuned, we'll share more! 🎙️ Telmi is the first podcast creation app for kids, powered by AI, that helps them become confident communicators. Think Duolingo for speaking & listening. 👉 Want early access? 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰—𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀? The BBC just reported that 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, especially those from lower-income backgrounds. The effects are serious: 📉 The learning gap between the poorest kids and their peers is widening. 🎓 Some children are now up to 𝟭𝟵 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 by the time they’re 16. 🗣️ Schools are seeing 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵, 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. And yet, when we talk about school absences, the conversation is mostly about 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀. But what about the skills that 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲? 📌 Missing school doesn’t just mean missing lessons—it means missing: ❌ The chance to practice speaking in front of others. ❌ The small, everyday interactions that build social confidence. ❌ The experience of working through thoughts out loud and feeling heard. 💡 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹—𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. Because here’s the reality: if kids fall behind in maths, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 (if privileged enough) 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. But if they fall behind in 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, in the ability to express themselves, it’s much harder to rebuild. So my question to you is: 📢 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s discuss 👇 🔄 𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 & 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. #Education #SpeakingConfidence #LostLearning #SchoolAttendance #FutureSkills

❤️ We've been so excited to onboard @Bromstoneprimary in our research programme! Thank you! Kristian Horne, Assistant Head at Bromstone Primary was looking for alternative ways to engage and empower children with learning difficulties to demonstrate their learnings. At Telmi, we're focused on giving children a voice, boosting confidence, and breaking barriers to learning. We co-created Telmi with educators, parents, children and speech & language therapists from Day 1. So when schools started to reach out a few months ago, we've invited them to co-create with us too! We're now piloting within schools to measure the impact of Telmi on their students, especially those with learning difficulties. Those who may be daunted by bookwork, who struggle to engage. It's been particularly fascinating to observe how giving them a voice has unlocked their ability to engage and demonstrate their learning. Stay tuned as we're documenting our journey and will share more! #EdTech #PrimaryEducation #InclusiveEducation #StudentVoice #Oracy #EducationInnovation #CommunicationSkills #LearningWithoutLimits #SpeechAndLanguage #Neurodiversity #TeachersOfLinkedIn
