At Telstra Health, we are dedicated to delivering precise and relevant analytical models, which inspired the creation of HSMR+, a pioneering mortality metric that raises the bar for healthcare analytics and has the potential to influence global practices. HSMR+ provides a comprehensive solution for mortality benchmarking, designed to meet the evolving demands in healthcare. Developed in collaboration with healthcare providers and industry experts, it enhances the assessment of comorbidities, incorporates COVID-19 data, and tackles health inequalities through the new Index of Multiple Deprivation. In this article, Dr. Lorna Barclay, our Head of Statistics, shares insights on how HSMR+ was developed and its potential to improve patient outcomes: https://lnkd.in/eRfBEQgc To learn more, register for our HSJ webinar on 26 November at 12pm: https://lnkd.in/gQht5xFt #HSMR+ #HealthcareAnalytics #MortalityBenchmarking #NHS

The COVID-19 pandemic brought significant disruption to the healthcare service. In our latest research article by Cerys Naden, we unpack major disruptions and changes in patient pathways, which has led to deteriorating outcomes for cancer patients across NHSE Trusts. Marking the end of #cervicalcancerprevention month, it is vital that targeted interventions are made to address the disparities in the patient outcomes of those from the most underserved populations. This calls for a collective effort from policymakers, government officials and health professionals to ensure a comprehensive healthcare service for all.
