🧠 OCD Awareness Week 🧠 Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Awareness Week is an annual event intended to increase public awareness and understanding of OCD, a mental health disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. Obsessions are intrusive and unwanted thoughts, images, or urges that cause significant distress, while compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts performed in response to those obsessions. This week serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the symptoms and impact of OCD, promote access to treatment options ranging from cognitive-behavioral therapy to medication, and reduce stigma associated with the disorder. By raising awareness about OCD and providing accurate information, we can help individuals affected by this condition feel supported and empowered in seeking help. #OCD #ocd #ocdawareness #ocdawarenessweek #ocdawarenessweek2024 #mentalhealth #mentalwellbeing #MentalHealthMatters #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #mentalillness #mentalwellness

About us
What is Terrace Talk That 3 o'clock kick off in a classic football surrounding, nothing beats it and it's a place we have all had great memories. and probably more bad ones. But, it's the thing we look forward to, the thing that gets us through the week, the thing that pulls communities and friends together. Pre match brew, a chat in a queue. Half time talk, or during the full time walk. One man opening his good non-judgmental ear to conversation about anything on our plate, while taking in a random game of football at the weekend. It's not always easy to recognise when we need to talk but finding the common place and interest to voice your thoughts can hopefully allow anyone to find some confidence and strength to reach out to watch a game. By simply listening and being physically and emotionally present, can be far more effective than trying to offer advice. That's what Terrance Talk is all about.

🚶🚶🏻♀️🧠🧠 Coming Soon 🧠🧠🚶🏻♀️🚶 Terrace Talk will be hosting weekly 1 hour mindfulness nature walks in West Lothian (Terrace Walks) Regular walks can help decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression by releasing feel-good chemicals like endorphins in the brain. Additionally, walking can reduce stress levels, improve self-esteem, and enhance overall mood due to the release of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. Taking a walk outdoors in nature can also increase feelings of relaxation and calmness, providing a sense of grounding and connection with the natural world, which is important for mental well-being. #mentalhealthmatters #Mindfulness #personalgrowth #mentalhealthawareness

As we navigate through these uncertain times, it has become increasingly crucial for employers to prioritise the mental health and well-being of their employees. I can't stress enough how important it is for companies to create a supportive and understanding work environment that encourages open communication about mental health struggles. We spend a significant amount of our lives at work, and it's imperative that our mental health is taken seriously by our employers. Gone are the days where mental health was brushed under the rug or seen as a sign of weakness. It's time for employers to step up and provide resources and support for their employees who may be struggling with mental health issues. Whether it's offering mental health days, access to therapy services, or creating a culture of acceptance and understanding, there are so many ways for companies to prioritise their employees' mental well-being. I urge all employers to take a proactive approach towards mental health in the workplace. Please take a look at my article on our website: https://lnkd.in/ee9ef3yf

✍🏻✍🏻 Hey, so let's talk about something important - it's totally ok for men to talk about their feelings. I know there's this whole stigma around men being tough and stoic, but honestly, that's a load of crap. Men have emotions just like anyone else, and keeping them bottled up can lead to all sorts of issues like anxiety and depression. So if you're feeling down or struggling with something, don't be afraid to open up and share with someone you trust. It doesn't make you any less of a man - in fact, it takes real strength to be vulnerable and honest about how you're feeling. Plus, talking things out can help you work through your problems and feel so much better in the long run. So go ahead, speak up - it's more than ok! #itsoktotalk #mensmentalhealth #mindfulness #inthistogether #mentalhealthrecovery #MentalHealth #MensHealth #mentalhealthmatters #anxietyawareness #mentalhealthadvocate #personalgrowth #endthestigma #mentalhealthawareness #emotionalwellbeing
