Thanks to the panellists and all the delegates for joining me on yesterday's monthly bureau managers webinar. This was a closed session, open only to members of the Association of Bureau Managers where we discussed a wide range of issues which managers must navigate in the current software environment. They are faced with the challenge of maintaining business continuity while deciding whether to: - retain their ageing legacy platform (fully featured but not necessarily well supported by the vendor), - migrate to a new cloud platform (still lacking many of the features they have come to rely on), - embark on a swift or slow migration project with all the disruption and additional work involved. It was a really interesting session which uncovered many different perspectives. One overriding feeling was that, on the whole, software vendors don't listen to the needs of bureau managers, or they do listen but can tend to lose interest. We resolved to explore various options including a software accreditation scheme. For more information on the work of the association and how to join future events, including the Bureau Management Conference, check out our website - https://lnkd.in/eRNYT8Ka. Thanks to Adam Flight, Kevin Waller, Stephen Moreton and Philip Johnson for sharing their views on the panel. #strongertogether #payrollmanagement #softwaremigration

In celebration of #NPW24, I am super-excited to formally launch the brand-new website for the Association of Bureau Managers. The association was created on the back of the success of the first ever Bureau Management Conference a year ago. Today, it is a flourishing community of payroll bureau professionals who share knowledge, insights, and resources to elevate the quality of payroll bureau services and to raise awareness of the vital role they play in supporting UK plc. Pop over to https://lnkd.in/eRNYT8Ka to learn more about the benefits of membership and the events we host, many of which are open to non-members. #payrollservices #strongertogether #events

Payroll bureaus are held to the very highest of standards, by themselves and by their stakeholders. Every one of their clients demands the very best service and, on the whole, they get it - most bureaus regularly achieve 98%+ success rates. If only the same could be said for HMRC whose service was rated as positive by only 37% of agents; and yet large businesses gave them a positive rating of 81%. https://lnkd.in/e-_daxE7 Payroll bureaus provide a vital service to millions of businesses across the UK and providing them with a second class service is deeply frustrating for bureaus and for their clients. Moreover, it is detrimental to the economy as a whole. Cuts to HMRC funding have gone too deep and payroll bureaus are paying a higher price than many. The Association of Bureau Managers is dedicated to uniting professionals in the payroll bureau industry to collectively advance standards, promote ethical practices, and highlight the crucial role they play to support GB plc.

"Unity and collaboration for the sake of the whole" I was asked about the benefits of being a member of the Association of Bureau Managers and I was reminded of this beautiful post on instagram. Perhaps the main benefit is this - the "unconditional support" you can expect to receive from your fellow members when times get tough and it feels like you just can't go on. #strongertogether #payrollservices #collaboration https://lnkd.in/eeSKsFF6
Farrah King on Instagram: "Earlier today, when I was in my greenhouse, I happened to notice a frustrated bee tangled in a spider web attempting to break free. She was notably tangled in the web, so her wings were quite disabled. I quickly assisted her to the closest hive in my apiary. Almost instantly a group of female worker Bees 🐝 rushed to her aid to assist with the removal of the sticky web.

Founder and Director of the Association of Bureau Managers - a collaborative community where members can share knowledge, insights, and resources to elevate the quality of payroll bureau services across the industry.
I'm really grateful to all the bureau seniors (some of whom are visible here) who joined us for this month's Association of Bureau Managers webinar to discuss the topic of "What future for faster payments?". This was a follow-up meeting to the BACS webinar I hosted last month an was of great interest to all the attendees. I was joined this time by representatives of two vendors in the faster payments space who explained how their platforms are deployed and used by bureaus and their clients. Thanks to Paul Unwin MCIPP and Alex Kill for your time and support. #payrollservices #payrollmanagement
