  • As Brain Tumour Awareness Month draws to a close, it’s important to remember that for those living with the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis, the journey doesn’t end. While March has been a time to raise awareness, share stories, and bring visibility to this cause, every day is a reminder of the strength, courage, and resilience of individuals who face this challenge. For the survivors, caregivers, and families, the fight continues long after the month is over. At The Beyond Recovery Project, we stand alongside everyone impacted by brain tumours. We honour their experiences, and we’re committed to supporting their ongoing journey with resources, community, and compassion. Together, we can keep the conversation going, and ensure that the impact of brain tumours remains recognised year-round. This evening, we’re sharing Nick’s story. Nick’s journey has been a real testament to the unseen struggles that can accompany a brain tumour diagnosis. Not only did he endure the physical toll of multiple surgeries and procedures for a condition often considered 'benign', but the impact on his mental health was profound. Sadly, Nick’s mental health struggles were not given the urgent attention they required, as he was faced with a staggering 12-month wait to access the support he needed through the NHS. Thankfully, The Beyond Recovery Project was able to step in and provide the support Nick needed when he needed it most. To all those walking this path, know you are not alone. Your journey matters, your strength is powerful, and your story is one of resilience. Together, we will continue to raise awareness, challenge the stigmas, and provide support that makes a difference. We cannot do what we do without your support. If you can, please make a donation (however small) as every single penny helps change lives for the better. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eu8CcJJz Read his story here: ⬇️⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eWdEXVdW #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth #StrongerTogether #BeyondRecovery #BenignIsNotFine #AcousticNeuroma #VestibularSchwannoma #BrainTumour

  • After a brain tumour diagnosis, moving forward looks different for all of us. 🩵 For some, it’s a gentle walk. For others, it’s running with the wind at their back—and maybe a four-legged friend by their side. No matter how you move, every step counts. This April, we’re coming together for 30 days of movement and mindfulness, proving that life after a brain tumour is about strength, resilience, and taking things one step at a time. Ready to move forward with us? Stay tuned. 👀 📸 A special shout-out to Kat and the lovely Nala on their first canicross run together! 🏃🏻♀️🐕 #BrainBodyBoost #MovingForward #SurvivorStrong #StrongerTogether #BrainTumourAwareness #Oligodendroglioma

The second book we want to share is Sickbed to Summits, by Sara Crosland. In Sickbed to Summits, Sara shares her inspiring journey of resilience and recovery after surviving brain tumour surgery and a brain haemorrhage. This powerful memoir is not just about the physical challenges she faced but the mental and emotional battles she fought in order to reclaim her life. Sara's story is one of overcoming limitations and finding strength in the face of adversity. It's a testament to the power of determination and the human spirit's ability to rise above the most difficult circumstances. But Sara's vision goes beyond her personal story. She hopes that Sickbed to Summits will serve as a valuable resource within the NHS and healthcare settings, offering a unique patient perspective and lived experience that can inspire both patients and healthcare professionals alike. 📚 Her book is not just a memoir—it's a call for greater empathy and understanding in healthcare. A story of triumph and resilience that could transform the way we think about recovery. #SickbedToSummits #OvercomingAdversity #BrainTumourSurvivor #Resilience #PatientPerspective #HealthcareInspiration #EmpathyInHealthcare #NHS #LivedExperience #MentalHealthAwareness #RecoveryJourney #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth #WorldBookDay
