Yesterday Evening at The Blackheath Hospital, we hosted an insightful and engaging patient event on Hernias, discussing common types, symptoms and treatment options with our Consultant Surgeon - Mr Midhat Siddiqui, and guest speaker; Consultant General Surgeon - Mr Ravikrishna Mamidanna. Attendees were greeted by our Marketing team and Nikash, our Self Pay Lead, and were treated to an array of baked treats, healthy fruit kebabs, juices, teas and coffees, before settling in for the wonderful presentation. We received such great feedback on both of our speakers, and gratitude for helping our community to get their questions answered, so that they can access the treatment that they need. #WorldMentalHealthDay 2024 at Blackheath! This year's World Mental Health Day theme was centred around 'prioritising mental health in the workplace', and that is exactly what we did! This month, we invited all of our staff to join us for a fun filled day of: - Colouring - Planting - Coffee with a Colleague - And the return of our static bike! Staff took it in turns to ride the distance from Blackheath all the way to The Priory Hospital in Birmingham! Thank you to all who came along, we hope that you were able to decompress and relax, and we really hope that you all continue to take the time for yourselves and prioritise your mental health.

Meet Dr Saad M B Rassam, a Consultant Haematologist & Haemato-Oncologist at The Blackheath Hospital 👨⚕️. Dr Rassam Qualified in 1980 from the University of Baghdad. In 1986, and arrived to the UK on a scholarship for post-graduate training in haematology. Dr Rassam established chemotherapy services at The Blackheath Hospital and played a key role in designing and building of the Oncology Suite at the hospital.
