  • Good reasons to use a recruitment agency when looking for a new job! Job hunting is a long and arduous task that most of us will be all too familiar with. One of its major downsides is that it can be really time-consuming, especially when you are seeking a new job whilst still in full-time employment. As experts in the recruitment process, we’ve rounded up four of our top reasons for enlisting the help of a recruitment agency for securing your next role: ➡ 1. We know the market Recruitment agencies have some really valuable market insight when it comes to job hunting, such as helping you to manage your salary expectations and how to match your skill set and experience to relevant available opportunities. At The Business Connection Group, we’ve placed a vast number of candidates in companies across the UK, which also means we’re also able to share detailed insights on what the company is like to work for, in terms of culture and their structure for career progression. ➡ 2. We save you time Whether you’re struggling to balance job hunting with a full-time job or a busy social schedule, a recruitment agency can save you time by doing most of the legwork for you. Here at The Business Connection Group, we scour the local market to source job opportunities that we think will interest and suit you personally, leaving you to spend your free time however you want! ➡ 3. We can guide you through the whole process The recruitment process has many different levels to it, with the interview stage in particular being the most daunting. Our team of recruitment experts can help you get prepared for this stage by letting you know what to expect on the day and sharing tips on how to answer tricky interview questions. ➡ 4. It won’t cost you a penny Jobseekers get the benefit of a recruitment agency without having to spend any money, so it’s well worth taking advantage of. Jobseekers can get the benefit of our network, expertise and industry knowledge here at The Business Connection Group, without any fees attached! • From figuring out what to wear to making a good first impression with your new boss and colleagues, it’s safe to say that the first day of a new job can be a little nerve wracking! To help set your mind to rest, we’ve put together a quick list of dos and don’ts for surviving your first day in a new working environment: 1. Get a good night’s sleep beforehand Getting a good night’s sleep the night before will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to start your first day full of energy. Don’t forget to make sure you set an alarm too! 2. Don’t be late! Few things make a bad impression quite like turning up late on your first day. Make sure you check your commute time the night before and plan to arrive in 10 minutes early to be on the safe side. 3. Keep off your phone Although you’re likely to be a little light on workload during your first day, avoid resorting to using your phone to pass the time. This can make a really bad impression to your new employer. 4. Don’t be the first person to ask about lunch Bringing up the topic of your lunch break in the office could make you look bored, so avoid the subject unless you’re invited to lunch by a new colleague/your new boss. If you’re bringing in a packed lunch – make sure you avoid tuna or egg salad! 5. Offer to make tea Offering to do a tea run in the office will show your new team that you’re willing to pull your own weight. Bear in mind, you could be remembered for your tea making skills so make it a good one! Above all, just remember to relax and be yourself. And good luck!
