Our annual global feminist gathering last night sparkled with energy and we can’t thank those of you that joined us enough for being part of and contributing to an inspiring evening of connection and conversation. 💫We are thrilled that many of our long-standing supporters joined new faces to our network at our in-conversation with the incredible Booker Prize winning author and proud feminist Bernardine Evaristo. Our host, the journalist and Circle Ambassador Lucy Siegle, led a dynamic discussion with Bernardine who showed how she truly embodies her belief that ‘your art form is your superpower.’ We also gave a snapshot of women’s rights globally - thank you to everyone on this journey to support our global feminist sisters everywhere at such a critical time. ✊We hope you found the conversations considering the power of creatively led activism, as inspiring as we did. The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is one of the toughest places in the world to be a woman not least due to an ongoing war that often uses strategic campaigns of sexual violence. MKAAJI is transforming lives in rural communities in DRC – working towards the socio-economic enhancement of residents, fighting for a sustainable future and advocating for the protection of women and children. Earlier this month, they’ve celebrated one year of running socio-economic empowerment projects for rural women and girls who was affected by gender-based violence in and around mining sites in South Kivu. The women and girls, through the Rural Women’s Leadership Centre, held the Agricultural Resilience Fair in Kahele - highlighting their lush produce and harvest.
