supporting biologists, inspiring biology
About us
The Company of Biologists exists to support biologists and inspire advances in biology. We do this through our portfolio of publications, the promotion of research and study, and the development of connections and communities. At the heart of what we do are our five specialist journals: Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms (OA) and Biology Open (OA). All are edited by expert researchers in the field, and all articles are subjected to rigorous peer review. We believe that the profits from publishing the hard work of biologists should support scientific discovery and help develop future scientists. Therefore, we reinvest the profits we make, using them to organise and facilitate scientific meetings, build and develop communities of biologists, assist the activities of specialist societies and give financial support to young researchers. To find out more about our publications and activities, please visit www.biologists.com.
