Anyone wanting to research UK companies should take a look at The Data City's platform, which I just finished trialling... I used it to build a list of tech/SAAS companies that have received Seed or Series A funding. I've used lots of business database tools/platforms over the years, but liked this a lot for many reasons, including: 1. Great onboarding widget that gave a practical demo of functionality without wasting my time ⌛ 2. Intuitive UI (I'm a marketer - woohoo!!!) 🪄 3. Easy to drill into ownership, people, financials (including investment), and more... (see image) 4. Links to external sources of data where you need them 5. Detailed filters, easy to analyse, view as list, map, save, export... 6. Maybe most importantly, their proprietary RTIC classification (Real time Standard Industrial Classification) addresses the shortcomings of the the archaic SIC structure, and meant I could find exactly what I needed without trawling through hundreds/thousands of irrelevant companies. My requirements in this instance were pretty straightforward, but I could see the levels of sophistication/functionality/tools I would need for more complex use cases.
