Happy International Women's Day from all of us at The Fair, We Are Placemaking  and We Are OPS 🚀   We're proud to have incredible women delivering events here at We Group UK.   Women make up 76.9% of events professionals across the world, but only 22.62% of them occupy roles in the top level of seniority, compared with 46.43% of men.   We can all change that. Here are some resources we hope will prove useful for women looking to push their career in the events industry:   💡 NOWIE - The Network of Women in Events CIC: This incredible organisation strives to create better opportunities and increase representation for women within the events industry, with many resources and mentor programmes available. 💡 IOSH: Only 21% of UK health and safety professionals are women. IOSH are looking to change this, and have shared advice and tips for women looking to break into senior occupational safety and health leadership roles on their website. 💡 The Advice Line: a career tool which will help anybody looking to kickstart their career in the festivals and events industry.   #festivals #events #internationalwomensday #iwd25 #eventprofs #eventprofsuk

Taking a minute to celebrate our Production Manager Liberty Taylor, who was recognised as one of Access All Areas Magazine's 30 Under 30 in the event industry this year.   From London to Miami, Boiler Room to Jazz Cafe Festival, last festival season Liberty led The Fair team on site at vast range of shows across the UK and beyond... We're so proud of the shows we deliver at The Fair, none of which would happen without the hard work, passion and commitment shown by the team.   Speaking about the award, Liberty said: "Awards are a surreal reminder of how far I’ve come in the event production world and how much more there is to learn and experience. The Fair, We Are Placemaking and We Are OPS kicked off Day 1 at the Event Production Show with a jam-packed panel on the Knowledge Hub, about 'Dealing with Disaster on a Festival Site: Live Table-Top Session'...   Audience members heard first hand members of We Group UK's event production teams, who have spent years learning how to prepare for the worst in advance, and deal with unexpected challenges when they arrive.   Some key takeaways: 💡 Having a tabletop exercise and contingency plan is crucial for handling onsite disasters efficiently - always plan for the worst. 💡 Regularly checking in with the client on changes or updates ensures smooth communication and preparedness. 💡 In any situation, people’s safety is always a priority.
