Yesterday the FBCA joined sector colleagues to provide evidence to the UK COVID-19 Inquiry. Having been refused core participant status in all 10 modules we finally had an opportunity to voice the impact of the pandemic on both bereaved families and the key workers within the sector. Collectively we supported families with funerals for over 1.3 million people who died between the time of the first case in January 2020 and the formal ending of the restrictions in April 2022. To represent this within the 3 hours provided was a challenge and again shows the need for separate module covering the Death Care Sector and their role within the Pandemic.

✈️✍️ FBCA Refresher Training and Mentoring at Jersey Crematorium this week✍️✈️ 💯 When it comes to maintaining and championing the highest standard of operational procedures, there's no distance we won't travel. ✅ Refresher sessions carried out every 3-5 years with an experienced FBCA Trainer ensures that Cremator Technicians safety, maintenance and operational skills are up to date. ✅ An on-site mentoring session for Technicians yet to pass their assessment allows an experienced Trainer to start or continue the candidates learning, where a qualified Technician may be unavailable or absent.
