I am delighted that Fernando Auat Cheein has joined us as our new Professor of Engineering at Harper Adams University. He brings extensive experience which will support our ambitions to be a research-informed, industry connected and educationally impactful university. #Welcome Fernando! #togetherwewillmakethedifference
I'm excited to share that I have officially started a new chapter as a Professor of Engineering at the Department of Engineering at Harper Adams University! After almost two and half rewarding years at Heriot-Watt University and being part of the The National Robotarium, I'm thrilled to join the Harper Adams community. This new role presents a fantastic opportunity to continue advancing research and education in engineering, with focus on robotics and sustainable agricultural technology. Looking forward to collaborating with colleagues, students, and industry partners as we push the boundaries of engineering innovation, through robotics and AI, for a more sustainable future.

So if you're an Engineer or a Technologist, and you're working within the #agricultural, #agrifood or #agritech space, you might not consider yourself to be in #agriculturalengineering, but in reality you are... So we've assembled a fantastic list of people who are going to tell us what they want out of the engineering community that work in agriculture...

Colleagues, contacts and friends in the West Midlands, Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, and beyond. Details of the new digital and future-skill focused degree courses we are offering are available via the links below. This is alongside what we are offering for schools and colleges, and for business. We want the hardest to reach students to have an opportunity to benefit from this new space in The Quad to get them on the ladder to a work-ready career. In one building we have FE, HE, business, entrepreneurship, start-ups and political leaders. How you can help: - promote these opportunities with your communities, workplaces, connections so we get to the students who will benefit the most. Whatever stage they are up to, encourage them to get in touch. - many people are concerned that maintenance loans do not cover the full cost of living. You can help us tackle this by considering contributing to or funding a scholarship or bursary to take these concerns away. All amounts will make a difference. - offer opportunities for our young adults and mature students to gain experience in your company or organisation by coming in or letting some come to you. - Promote the location- next to the main Telford railway station means that accessing The Quad is much easier than many places. Right at the heart of Telford’s Business District. - if you have digital enabled equipment and machines that we can demonstrate with and to the students in The Quad, contact Parmjit Chima I ask my colleagues, friends and others connections to consider the above, to get on board to help us find those who will benefit from these opportunities, but also to share this development widely. Reposts are highly welcome and appreciated. It will take a collective effort to identify those that can and should benefit most, and to give them the best chance of accessing and succeeding through this new amazing opportunities. #togetherwewillmakethedifference #digital #robotics #automation #mechatronics #datascience #digitalbusiness #futureready #futurejobs Jacqui Smith Richard Parker David Sidaway Shaun Davies Harper Adams University Amie Burke The Institution of Agricultural Engineers Shropshire Community Foundation Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Parmjit Chima Dr Simone Clarke Telford College Invest Telford Capgemini Coforge Katherine Kynaston James Dunn GuildHE Institute of Directors (IoD) Society of Leadership Fellows Richard Heath Faheem Khan Doris Taylor MCIOF Simon Thelwell Andrew Wilcox Rebecca Payne Alex Hardie Alastair Dawes Stephen Goldstein CBE Judith Batchelar OBE George Dunn High Sheriff of Shropshire Office for Students
