Supporting current and former insurance employees and their dependants
About us
Adversity can affect anyone: a child with medical needs, a relationship breakdown, mental health issues, domestic abuse, a debilitating illness; all unforeseen events that can turn lives upside down. Established over 120 years ago, we are the only charity in the UK and Ireland solely supporting past and present employees in the industry, no matter what role they have had. Every year, we support hundreds of insurance employees and their families in times of need, transforming lives for the better and providing an essential lifeline for as long as is required. In 2023/2024 we awarded over £1.4 million to those facing hardship. The Charity can help you with one-off payments to help finance essential items such as household repairs, school uniforms, and mobility aids, and can also provide ongoing financial help (including charitable loans) where income is restricted or insufficient to meet day-to-day essential costs. We also work with other organisations such as Shelter UK to provide practical support where needed. We want to ensure no insurance employee in need of help misses out. We urge all industry employees to share our details with their professional networks (including those who have retired) and signpost anyone who needs support to our website. Please contact us to discuss how we can support your colleagues. We'd particularly like to hear from those in HR, Wellbeing, Mental Health and CSR roles and individuals with people management responsibilities.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and this year's theme is workplace mental health. We understand that worrying about your finances (in addition to other pressures such as illness or domestic abuse) can really impact on your mental wellbeing. If you've worked in insurance (any role) and are experiencing financial hardship then we could help. You can visit our website to find out more, and don't forget to signpost any insurance colleagues you think could benefit from our support. https://bit.ly/2XZJwP7 #WMHD #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay
