What has the last 4 weeks taught me about moving from running my own #marketing agency to working with the commercial team at The Lignum Group? Quite a lot. 👉You need consistency, with creativity chucked in: Myself, Ben Sinclair, Richard Fahey and Tom Shard are effectively establishing a new department. Creating habits and daily best practices is essential, but that shouldn't stop you from throwing a spanner in the works with a great idea. 👉Marketing CANNOT be underestimated: Of course, I would say that when I was promoting it, but this isn't just true for our business. The clients we work with who have a strong marketing foundation stand out. 👉Internal #HR teams have a lot of plates to spin: This reminds me of my time in in-house marketing. While both departments have different nuances and require varying skills, they're both underestimated (IMO). 👉Become obsessed with the numbers: An old manager of mine taught me this early in my career, and it has served me well ever since. This lesson has never been more relevant. 👉Network is Networth: I knew Tom Wood was well respected in our core markets. But that was probably an understatement.
