TEDx & Leadership Development Keynote Speaker, Trainer & Coach | Empowering emerging and new leaders | Empowering women and the ethnically diverse to become effective, empowered leaders who flourish.

I'll work with your organisation to ensure Reclaiming Narratives is meaningful this Black History Month. Black History Month is almost here and the theme for 2024 is Reclaiming Narratives. Something I'm familiar supporting others to do. As a multiple award-winning TEDx Keynote Speaker, I would love to work with a few more organisations this October to bring my insight on leadership development, empowerment and diversity to your events this October. Having been a regular speaker at Dods Diversity & Inclusion events including their Ethnic Minorities into Leadership Conferences, been a speaker on Greenwich University's LEAP into Leadership programme for ethnically diverse leaders, and Advance HE's Diversifying Leadership programme, I'm well placed to support your organisation to take an active role in reshaping how the contributions and stories of black people are told. Black History Month is more than just a tick box exercise, it's an opportunity to promote and celebrate the contributions of those with African and Caribbean heritage to British society and to foster an understanding of Black history in general. These contributions can often be overlooked and undermined, this is why the theme Reclaiming Narratives is so powerful. Stories are compelling tools that shape how we understand, therefore how the story is told matters. Hiring me to speak at your Black History Month event means you'll not only benefit from dynamic, engaging style of delivery but my informative approach which provides actionable strategies that ignites change and can chart your organisation and it's employees on course to tell the stories of Black people with the honour they are deserving of. Being a trainer as well as a Speaker enables me to create a space where people feel psychologically safe, which is paramount to engage get the best out individuals in today's world of work. Let talk about how I, as a black woman, can work with your organisation to ensure this Black History Month your event has an impact that lasts beyond October to reclaim the narrative, empowering, engaging, including and representing your black employees for the benefit of all employees. #BlackHistoryMonth2024 #ReclaimingNarratives #Development #LeadershipDevelopment #Empowerment #EmployeeEmpowerment #TEDx #KeynoteSpeaker #ProfessionalSpeaker #Speaker #RacialEquity

Do what you love, love what you do and keep going through tough times. And life will sprinkle surprises. It's fab Friday! Do you live for the weekend? If you do what love and love what you do, then every day is a good day. You've probably heard it said, 'if you love what you do, then you'll never work a day in your life'. It's not really suggesting that you won't work, what it is suggesting, is that work won't feel taxing. Although, there will be tough times because life, 'lifes'. It's also important to do what you love in your leisure time too. Rewind to last week and Jasmine was doing what she loved and life was sprinkling the surprises. On Bank Holiday Monday she went to a Maverick City and Kirk Franklin concert at Wembley Arena with her beautiful best friend of over 20 years who treated her to the tickets. And the surprises started with spotting Todd Galberth before the show, and he was kind enough to take a picture with them. Then when inside, it turned out their seats were WAAY at the back. Another surprise, they were selected and invited to move into seats much, much closer to stage. 🙏🏾🙌🏾 Roll on into the working week, and the parental juggle of the summer holidays continued for Jasmine, with a countdown until school starts, (and it wasn't easy. God bless teachers 🙏🏾). There's another surprise. Jasmine get emailed because someone has nominated her for an award, and it wasn't her! 🤯 (You can nominate yourself and there's no shame in it. Jasmine’s been there, done that). The Novi Awards are a celebration of successful women in business, honoring extraordinary female leaders across the country. Someone nominated Jasmine for doing what she loves; empowering and inspiring women and the ethnically diverse to become effective, empowered leaders who flourish. How amazing is that! Thank you to that someone. 🙏🏾 So as the weekend approaches, determine to do more of what you love and love what you do, to keep going through those though times and look out for a surprise sprinkle. 🧚🧚🏿🧚🏽 What surprises have sprinkled your way lately? Here's to a great weekend, sprinkled with surprises! 😊

You can become more confident and assertive. Transformation is possible. The Lunch & Learn went really well yesterday. I shared feedback from a case study on a client and was reminded of why I do what I do, it's to make difference. Here's the difference in Ellie's words: "People have noticed that I’ve been more assertive at work. I feel like before I was confident inside but not so much when it came to communicating and would back down easily. Now though I feel that I don’t necessarily need other people’s validation at all and at work this has been very powerful. I honestly feel like the sessions with Jasmine have really transformed me. I had been aware for a long time that I was a ‘people-pleaser’ who put other’s comfort before my own. I found it difficult to express myself as I was worried about upsetting people around me. I have made my own happiness a priority in every area of my life. I have also tapped into my inner strength which I think I had wrapped up in so much ‘trying to be liked’ padding. I have tried to stop shying away from uncomfortable feelings." If you're curious about how I might help a member of your team, or you, to transform into confident and assertive person, send me a DM or comment 'TRANSFORM' Thank God it's Friday! 😁😊 👋🏾👋🏼 Oh hi, I'm Jasmine - a Leadership Development Keynote Speaker, Lead Trainer & Coach. 🦸🏾♀️I specialise in empowering emerging and new female and ethnically diverse leaders to overcome obstacles, fulfil their potential and advance to become empowered leaders who flourish. 📩 Send a message for more information about booking Jasmine’s speaking or our Lunch & Learns, or click here: https://rb.gy/8wach7. What's the best tip for aspiring or new leaders? When aspiring to become, or you've just become a leader, the best thing you can do is develop yourself. It's really important you develop yourself because many of the skills that make you a great employee are NOT the ones that make you a great leader. Also, as a leader you are not only responsible for more, you impact others on a much greater level. Having a positive impact on your team, department and organisation creates a healthy culture and is critical to the success of an organisation. If you want to know HOW you can develop yourself, gaining insight into developing your leadership capacity, boosting your visibility and showcasing your credibility, then send us a DM or comment 'DEVELOP' and we'll send you details. Happy hump day! 😁😊 👋🏾👏🏼 We're The Like Me CIC - a Leadership Development Training organisation. 🦸🏾♀️We specialise in empowering emerging and new female and ethnic leaders to overcome obstacles, fulfil their potential and advance to become effective leaders who flourish. 📩 Send a message for more information about Jasmine’s speaking services or our Lunch & Learns. It's Black Leaders Awareness Day so... Here are 3 Black Leaders who inspire Jasmine: *Diane Abbott - the first black woman elected to parliament and is the longest-serving black MP. We were shocked and appalled by the racism levied against Diane and love that this hasn't deterred her from continuing to serve as an MP. *Nelson Mandela - was a South African anti-apartheid activist, politician, and statesman who served as the first president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. His example of what it is to lead stands tall. *Maya Angelou - was an American memoirist, poet, and civil rights activist. She received dozens of awards and more than 50 honorary degrees. We continue to be touched by the powerful words of Maya Angelou. We encourage you to take some time today and familiarise yourself with these individuals, their stories as well as their achievements. Which black leaders inspire you? Tell us in the comments... ✍🏼✍🏿✍🏽 #BlackLeadersAwarenessDay #BLAD #LunchAndLearn #Empowerment #LeadershipDevelopment #EmergingLeaders #WomensLeadership #EthnicLeadership #WomensEmpowerment #EthnicEmpowerment #WomenLeaders #EthnicLeaders #Training #Speaking #Diversity #GenderEquity #RacialEquity

A satisfying end. It's the end of the day and today the Empowering You Lunch & Learn culminated in a bonus Group Development Session. It left Jasmine feeling really satisfied after getting this feedback about the series; 'Jasmine you outdid yourself. Of all the places I could have spend my money developing myself, I'm so glad I did it with you'. So Jasmine's going to take a well deserved rest. We hope you've had a satisfying day and have a good rest tonight. Night! 😴💤 #Feedback #LunchAndLearn #Empowerment #LeadershipDevelopment #EmergingLeaders #WomensLeadership #EthnicLeadership #WomensEmpowerment #EthnicEmpowerment #WomenLeaders #EthnicLeaders #Training #Speaking #Diversity #GenderEquity #RacialEquity

"The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow" Nelson Mandela. There are a lot of heavy hearts in England today. It wasn't the result we hoped for. However, the youthful England team led us to the finals again. We didn't clinch the win this time, yet we were in the right place for a win. Something the English team showed was resilience. Jasmine was encouraging her daughter with a message about resilience this morning after her disappointment. Last week Jasmine did a talk on resilience at her Athena networking meeting and it was suggested that a talk like this would be great for our youth. Do you agree resilience building is something our youth need? Please type a 'YES' in the comments if you think our youth would benefit from a session like this. Also, if you know of an organisation working with youth, feel free to connect us by tagging someone from that organisation in the comments. We're supporting World Youth Skills Day. Let's support, encourage and develop our youth today and every day, because who knows where they'll lead us tomorrow. 👋🏾👏🏼 We're The Like Me CIC - a Leadership Development Training organisation. 🦸🏾♀️We specialise in empowering emerging and new female and ethnic leaders to overcome obstacles, fulfil their potential and advance to become effective leaders who flourish. 📩 Send a message for more information about Jasmine’s speaking or our Lunch & Learns. It's more blessed to give than receive. What are your thoughts about that? We agree. Jasmine having spent so much of her life in survival mode, hasn't always felt this way. However, nothing beats giving something that's well received. So it's great when a day like today, Social Media Giving day, is held. Especially as there's can be so much negativity out there in the world of social media. It's refreshing to have positivity and for good stuff to be promoted. Here are our 'gives' for today: 1) Some encouragement; remember your perfectly imperfect and likely doing the best you can. So give yourself a break and celebrate yourself for what you have achieved. 2) Shine a light on; the great work being done by a Bedfordshire based charity called Azalea. They support and empower those caught up in sex trafficking. Check them out and support, however you can. 3) An invitation; join Jasmine for a FREE Lunch & Learn titled 'Positioning Yourself to Lead' next Thursday at 1pm. If you want to know how to position yourself as a leader, boosting your visibility and credibility then this is for you. If you want to go into leadership or are a new leader, this is for you too. Comment with Lunch and we'll send you the link so you can learn. Now for dinner after Jasmine's little morning walk and afternoon picnic. Have a fab giving Friday and weekend. 📩 Send a message for more information about Jasmine’s speaking or our Lunch & Learns.
