🎧 This was the best podcast discussion around Web3 I have heard in along time. 🌐Loved that it was a modern discussion about progression, aspirations, pros and cons of Web3, blockchain, crypto and kept going back to the original vision of Web3, autonomy over your data, meaningful transactions, relationship building. ⚡️Can’t recommend listening enough! • 🤖 How to Wing It in Emerging Tech - Zero-Knowledge Proofs Edition 🤫 Welcome back to our exploration of emerging tech! Today, we're diving into the intriguing world of Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs)—a powerful cryptographic technique with significant implications for blockchain scalability and privacy. 🌐 So, what are Zero-Knowledge Proofs? ZKPs allow one party (the prover) to demonstrate to another party (the verifier) that they possess knowledge of a specific piece of information without revealing the actual information itself. It's like proving you know a secret without actually disclosing it. 🗝️ It’s a key part of the Web3 mission; ensuring one can prove they are eligible for the service, product, sale etc without giving away private information. It’s like confirming you are old enough to buy alcohol without having to share your name, date of birth, that you have a passport / driving license etc 🏙️ In urban development, ZKPs can be used to verify compliance with regulations, certify building properties, or confirm the identity of stakeholders without revealing sensitive information. This can lead to more efficient and secure processes, ultimately benefiting residents and promoting trust in urban planning initiatives. 🧩 As blockchain technology continues to mature, advanced concepts like Zero-Knowledge Proofs will play a vital role in shaping its future applications. 💡 Next time we will be looking at Digital Nomadism: a lifestyle enabled by digital technology, allowing individuals to work remotely from anywhere in the world. #ZeroKnowledgeProofs #ZKPs #EmergingTech #HowToWingIt #MindfulRegeneration #UrbanDevelopment Natascha McIntyre Hall #doingthingsdifferently #privacypreserving

  • 🤖 How to Wing It in Emerging Tech - Blockchain Scalability Edition ⛓️ Welcome back to our exploration of emerging tech! Today, we're diving into the crucial topic of Blockchain Scalability—a key challenge that must be addressed to realize the full potential of blockchain technology in urban development and beyond. 🦾 So, what makes Blockchain Scalability so important? As more users join a blockchain network and the volume of transactions grows, scalability ensures the network can handle this increased load without compromising performance, security, or decentralization. ⚡️ Why should you care about Blockchain Scalability? Because it's essential for mainstream adoption and application of blockchain technology. From decentralised finance and supply chain management to urban planning and governance, scalability is a prerequisite for leveraging blockchain's transformative potential in various sectors. 🌇 In urban development, blockchain's transparency and security can help build trust and facilitate collaboration among multiple stakeholders. For example, the city of Austin, Texas, is exploring the use of blockchain to streamline the identification and procurement process for affordable housing projects. However, without scalability, such applications would struggle to support the needs of an entire city. 💡 Next up, we'll explore Zero-Knowledge Proofs—a powerful cryptographic concept that can address privacy concerns and contribute to scalability in blockchain systems. Stay tuned! #BlockchainScalability #EmergingTech #HowToWingIt #MindfulRegeneration #UrbanDevelopment Natascha McIntyre Hall #doingthingsdifferently #connectedworld

  • 🕸️ How to Wing It in Emerging Tech - Spatial Web Edition 🕸️ Welcome back to our exploration of emerging tech! Today, we're delving into the Spatial Web—an emerging digital layer that seamlessly integrates with our physical surroundings. Imagine an interconnected web of data, services, and experiences that enhances the world around us and enables new forms of interaction. 🌐 So, what makes the Spatial Web unique? It's the convergence of several cutting-edge technologies, such as AR, VR, MR, IoT, and 5G, to create a unified digital infrastructure that understands and responds to our physical context. Essentially, a digital 3D mesh can be overlayed on the real world. As a user, you could attach information, data, NFTs and more to specific places. 👓So think about the Apple glasses that allow you to set up a virtual workspace with notice boards and visible documents pinned in to real life and walls or hanging in mid air, but when you take off the glasses the area is clear and tidy. It would be a differentiator for work and home life if you work from home. When you put the glasses back on the documents are right where you left them. This is the basics of Spatial web. 🏘️ Why should you care about the Spatial Web? Imagine you have a document that you need to sign - the issuers could deliver it to your notice board in your property - neat huh? However, think of the questions this raises for property ownership - can anyone else “hide” information in “your” Spatial Web? Do we need to think differently about the space above properties? There is already some discussion on this with drones, but how might we deal with digital information? If you can protect this space, and it’s blockchain linked - can you protect information? Could we end up with people hiding informations for their own gain? What if it To hide wealth from authorities? I realise these are all bad examples, and there are so many positives around security for the right reasons but they do not conjure such dramatic scenarios! 💡 Next up, we'll explore Blockchain Scalability—a critical aspect of realising the full potential of blockchain technology in urban development and beyond. Stay tuned! #SpatialWeb #EmergingTech #HowToWingIt #MindfulRegeneration #UrbanDevelopment Natascha McIntyre Hall #doingthingsdifferently #connectedworld

  • 🌐 How to Wing It in Emerging Tech - Immersive Learning Edition 🎓 Welcome back to our exploration of emerging tech! Today, we're diving into the transformative world of Immersive Learning. By leveraging the power of altered realities like VR, AR, and MR, Immersive Learning offers a new dimension of education that engages, inspires, and empowers learners. 🤖 So, what makes Immersive Learning unique? It's the ability to create interactive, experiential learning environments that foster understanding, retention, and application of knowledge. By simulating real-world scenarios and enabling hands-on practice, Immersive Learning bridges the gap between theory and practice. 🦾 Why should you care about Immersive Learning? Because it is already proven to dramatically increase learning speed and retention. It can programme in muscle memory and fine tune movements to precise actions can be practised without risk of destroying product or real life accidents. Immersive learning also allows people to learn in a way authentic to them ie if they need to press the button, they’re not supposed to press, they will see what happens, consequence-free. Most people learn through their own experiences significantly better than because they have been told. 🧩 In urban development, Immersive Learning can be used to train engineers, trades people, educate citizens about urban challenges, and engage the public in participatory design processes. For example, the city of Helsinki has used VR simulations to educate citizens about climate change, allowing them to experience potential impacts and solutions firsthand. 💡Next up, we'll explore the Spatial Web—the emerging digital layer that seamlessly integrates with our physical surroundings. Stay tuned for insights into this cutting-edge frontier! #ImmersiveLearning #EmergingTech #HowToWingIt #MindfulRegeneration #UrbanDevelopment Natascha McIntyre Hall #doingthingsdifferently #transformativeeducation
