IN THE STUDIO – Q3: A little update from us as we head into the back–end of 2024... A year in the making, September saw the launch of the new RBC brand and website. The project's been really well received so far and we're looking forward to continuing the rollout over the coming weeks and months. Aside from brand work, there's been some lovely print and production coming through the studio for Donatello Restaurant & Pizzeria and Chester Women's Aid, plus some animation work for long–standing client HOYA Lens. Out and about, we headed over to the latest Process Events in Manchester. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one as Matt has been very kindly asked to come along and offer up some words of wisdom! Finally, never one to shy away from a microphone 👀, Jen got to test her presenting skills at the Red Rose Business Club event at Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire Cricket Club. Brands are everywhere. They’re on every device we own, every store we shop in and every billboard we walk past. But, how many do you actually remember? How many connect with you, surprise you or put a “smile in the mind” when you see them? The chaotic cultural landscape of the last few years has significantly impacted consumer priorities and behaviours, with the global pandemic, political frictions and other societal factors all playing their part. This results in a new set of expectations of what a brand can, and should be. It’s not enough for brands to talk the talk, and not walk the walk. There’s an increasing pressure for them to have a purpose beyond their products/services, to create experiences that are above their utility and to have cultural transparency and authenticity in the way that they engage. When brands fail to create these, they gradually become irrelevant in the minds of their consumers. Brands in the modern world have to be experience led, purpose driven, and people centred. That’s why we believe that modern brands exist at the intersection of Purpose, Culture & Experience, with our approach to building brands focused on maximising and delivering in all three areas. Purpose, Culture and Experience are all inextricably linked to each other, so we’ve adopted a sprint methodology that allows us to develop each one in a simultaneous process that has creation and collaboration at its heart.

A year in the making. From first sitting down with Ruth and Jackie to pitch ourselves and our brand–building process, to now seeing it fully realised and launched into the world. It's been an epic journey so far with the project covering; an adjustment to the business name, brand hierarchy to introduce a set of sub–brands, positioning, purpose statement, value proposition, refreshed brand story, a values and behaviours system, brand personality and tone of voice, not to mention a complete overhaul of the visual identity. All built into our Purpose, Culture and Experience framework. Phew! We've partnered with some brilliant people too, with William Bocchinelli on web dev, Emma Fletcher on SEO and long–time collaborator Andy Harrison on photography. Not forgetting the rest of team RBC Julie Hughes and Fiona Kelly who have all been amazing to work with and pivotal in bringing the project to fruition. Full case study coming soon... IN THE STUDIO – Q2: Over half the year done already, it'll be Christmas before we know it! Here's a little insight into where we've been at in Quarter 2. There's been some brand refresh work for an exciting business in the EV charging space, rolling out our work for music platform NDC and getting some new, TMW swank produced. See Jen for the goods 💅 We've been getting out from behind the screen too. Brand workshops with a couple of new clients in Manchester and further afield in Devon (more on those soon), a visit to the Fuzzy Duck's in Media City, networking–a–plenty, and a little team TMW outing to Process Events Manchester by Right Aligned Academy. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming speakers at that one 👀 Last, but very much not least, we continue our partnership with the amazing blood cancer charity, DKMS UK with a fundraising day and donor drive at Warrington Rylands FC. The club, and the players, have been kind enough to really get behind the charity to help raise awareness and get more people onto the stem cell register. **NEW WORK** The seeds were sown when a group of seasoned DJ’s, disillusioned with the current offering of disco and house music for their demographic, got their heads together and set out to create a new kind of radio station. Harking back to the days of pirate radio, but with a modern approach befitting of the original ravers now all grown up (kind of). So, on New Year’s Eve 2017, NDC (Northern Dance Collective) Radio was born. It's been an absolute pleasure partnering up with the guys at NDC to change–up the identity. What was looking tired and dated is now fresh, vibrant and relevant. If you're a music lover as much as we are, this kind of work is the golden ticket, and let's be honest, a chance to indulge ourselves. IN THE STUDIO – Q1: As the first part of the year disappears in the flash, here's a little snippet of what we've been up to. There's been brand rollouts for Smooth HR and Prism Studios, some of which we've shared on our socials. A new brand project just launched for NDC, a dance music platform comprising of a radio station and live events company. There's some big plans afoot from those guys so give them a follow if you're into that sort of thing. Aside from all the brand shenanigans, we've had fun in front of, and behind, the camera with a photoshoot for long–standing client, Cox Lewis and delivered a multi–channel Spring/Summer campaign for global lens manufacturer, HOYA. Phew! Outside of the studio work, we continue our partnership with the amazing blood cancer charity, DKMS UK. This time we're getting the players of our local football club, Warrington Rylands FC to help raise awareness of the vital, life–saving work they do. We'll be running a swab–drive at an upcoming game to get as many people as we can onto the stem cell register. More on that soon. On to Q2! **NEW WORK** There’s not too many family restaurants around these days, but there’s even less like this one. Donatello is a local legend in Warrington, a stalwart of Orford Lane with a reputation that’s almost as big as it’s two–decade history. While competition has come and gone, Donatello has remained a constant since 1996. In 2022, the Donatello family expanded to include Don Quattro, a fast–food offering with all the quality customers have come to expect from a Don. As the Don Quattro star rose, a minor refurb at Donatello created the ideal opportunity to refocus the parent brand, polishing one of the jewels in the town’s culinary crown and reminding the young Dons of their place. In–person events transitioned into videos, short films, and animations that could be shared extensively, enabling Prism to adapt, diversify its offerings, and ultimately thrive during a challenging period.
