Clients Are Cancelling the Christmas Party...?! The demand for a traditional alcohol-heavy Christmas party is tanking. Booze-filled gatherings are often quickly forgotten and can leave more chaos than cherished memories. But there are plenty of fun, engaging, and meaningful alternatives to consider... Alternatives Clients are doing include: New Year Kick-Offs: Start the new year on a high note with an event that blends team bonding and business strategy. With more affordable venues in January, it’s a great way to celebrate and set the tone for the year ahead. Spring or Summer Family Fun Days: Show appreciation to your employees and their families by hosting a relaxed day of outdoor activities. It’s a fantastic way to build deeper connections beyond the workplace, making everyone feel valued. A Day at the Races: For a more refined experience, take the team to the races or organize an alternative sophisticated outing. It’s memorable, fun, and doesn’t need to center around alcohol. Hosting a Kids' Charity Party: Embrace the holiday spirit by giving back. Organize a festive charity event for children in need, combining fun and philanthropy in one heartwarming celebration. This shift towards more thoughtful and inclusive celebrations is gaining momentum for good reason. However, if you want a party, we can help make it unforgettable!

About us
Specialists in Corporate Events Management, Team Building, Sales Incentives, Employee Recognition Schemes, Conferences, CSR Events, Wellness Retreats, Tours & Excursions, Brand Experiences and more. MotivAction design and run events helping our clients build teams, motivate and communicate with staff, partners and their clients. We design events that make a difference and integrate sustainability into events at venues in the UK and abroad. Our Conference & Event directory has over 1000 event ideas collated over the last 35 years. Over the past ten years we have also established two not-for-profit care farms, Church Farm Ardeley and Aldenham Country Park, providing training and work experience for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues. We run Corporate Volunteering and CSR focussed events at our own venues. Increasingly, we have seen companies opting to do something ‘real’ for building their teams. A 2017 study found that a company’s CSR strategy is a big factor in where today’s top talent chooses to work. Often this is referred to as the triple bottom line: People, Planet, and Revenue. Companies are encouraged to put that increased profit into programmes that give back. Our Care Farms are particularly suited to organisations and events that are about sustainability and to those that take seriously the impact enterprise can have on people and the environment. www.motivaction.co.uk www.teambuilding-ideas.co.uk www.direct.motivaction.co.uk www.churchfarmardeley.co.uk www.aldenhamcountrypark.co.uk

"What gets measured gets done" is true enough as a management mantra. However not everything is measurable and over reliance on measurement can miss out crucial non-measurables. For instance how do you measure the quality of a "good morning". The second half of the phrase should be "What gets recognised gets repeated". You can measure the amount of paint but you cannot measure the art, only recognise it. You cannot measure values and behaviours in action all the time, but you can recognise them. Recognition is the key to embedding a great culture. We have helped small and very large organisations with this. Any recognition programme needs to empower everyone to recognise others, up, down and across the organisation. For a free initial meeting to evaluate how recognition programmes can be improved in your organisation do get in contact with Tim.

An incredible 4 days together in Lisbon, with amazing Maven colleagues from New York & London. We welcomed a new cohort of talent into the Maven team, relaunched our core Maven Principles, reset our collaborative vision for sustained success and competed hard (and fair) on water and land. Huge thanks to Sabrina Reavley, née Walsh, Sheldon VanKooten and MotivAction for pulling together an unforgettable professional event. #brilliancetransforms #courageouskindness #unflinchingintegrity #dynamicpartnership #disruptiveexcellence #executivesearch

The most memorable leadship model that concentrates on what leaders actually do is John Adair's Action-Centred Leadership - the 3 Circle Model. It is a framework designed to balance and integrate the essential responsibilities of effective leadership. This model is represented by three overlapping circles, each symbolizing a core area of focus for leaders: Task, Team, and Individual. Task: This circle emphasizes the completion of specific tasks or goals. Leaders need to define clear objectives, plan effectively, allocate resources, and ensure deadlines are met. The focus here is on the efficient and effective execution of work-related activities to achieve desired outcomes. Team: The second circle represents the dynamics and cohesion of the team. Leaders are responsible for fostering collaboration, building a supportive team environment, and resolving conflicts. This involves encouraging team spirit, facilitating communication, and ensuring the team works together harmoniously towards common goals. Individual: The third circle focuses on the needs and development of individual team members. Leaders must be attentive to the personal development, motivation, and well-being of each member. This includes providing feedback, recognizing achievements, and offering support for personal growth. Adair's model illustrates that effective leadership arises from the interaction and balance of these three elements. Overlapping areas indicate that tasks, team cohesion, and individual needs are interconnected and must be managed simultaneously for optimal performance

We have arranged a dozen corporate events to help with the Care Farms at Church Farm and Aldenham this summer. Groups range from 6 people upwards. The largest was for 500 people who helped transform the farm and celebrated with a party in the fields after!

What is "Rural Care" at Church Farm and Aldenham? Rural Care is a unique approach to care provision that provides work-related experiences for adults with learning disabilities and additional needs in a supportive and caring environment. At Aldenham Country Park and Church Farm Ardeley, our Rural Care team is made up of over 80 "Co-Farmers" who work in small, mixed ability groups supported by 30 qualified and experienced staff. They help with many aspects of farm life, from feeding and mucking out the animals to growing fruits and vegetables, collecting eggs, and interacting with all the animals. This meaningful work helps our Co-Farmers develop life and social skills, increase self-esteem and independence, build confidence, and be healthy. Our community also supports special farm projects, such as planting flowers around the farm at Easter and making scarecrows for display at Halloween. In addition, we help reduce waste by repurposing wooden pallets to make rustic crafts to sell in the shops and by repairing things with reclaimed materials. Rural Care is where care for land and people meet, and at Church Farm and Aldenham we are 2 of approximately 240 care farms in the UK providing this unique approach to care provision. Join us in supporting #carefarminguk #carefarming #socialfarmsandgardens.

Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way. Edward de Bono I was lucky to discover his books early in life. Many think that "creativity" is something you are born with. De Bono spent his life studying and teaching creativity. He gave us many techniques for "Brainstorming" and generating creative ideas. The most fun is the "po technique" - "po" standing for introducing a provocative idea / thought into your thinking. He gives an example of the Concorde design team using this by adding in a constraint to their thinking... "what if the plane had to land upside down" obviously the disadvantage is it would crash... but there is one advantage - the pilot would have a good view of the runway! Concorde had a nose cone that lowered on landing giving the pilot a good view. Adding in a provactive and seemingly silly idea to brainstorming can help generate new ideas. At MotivAction we run creativity workshops using the "po" technique and the "6 thinking hats" https://lnkd.in/e4jsvySn

National Volunteers Week is the 3rd – 9th June – what’s your company doing? If your company has yet to organise their Corporate Volunteering Event this year, Church Farm Ardeley and Aldenham Country Park can help. Located within easy reach of London, companies from the home counties and London are choosing to hold their CSR Volunteering Team Building events at our Care Farms. With acres of space to accommodate groups up to 500+ people, we run CSR events all year round. Some groups even choose to camp overnight. Rural Care & Education programmes operate five days a week providing day opportunities and work-related experiences for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues. Our Co-farmers work with our experienced staff in small mixed ability groups in a variety of jobs to suit individual interests, needs and abilities, the groups contribute hugely to the upkeep and maintenance of both farms. Companies that spend time at our care farms discover the impact they can make as a team, working together towards an end goal that’s meaningful and impactful. Bonding with their colleagues and creating memorable moments during the experience, the buzz generated around such an event can have a big, positive impact for all.
