In October last year we made a promise. Never turn down a sale and never lose a sale. How’s it going? We can confidently say we have never never turned down an order. There has been times when we have been at maximum output with stockists, a new product launch and our online sales growing week on week. We have been caught short. However, we have pulled up our sleeves and worked longer and harder to not say ‘no’ Have we lost sales? Our abandoned cart would say yes. Have we had some out of stocks? Yes. This may have been a goal set too loosely, whether customers have been browsing and not found the product they came for has meant they have not returned? We will do more work on this next year, tracking this and measuring this more tightly. Despite this we have fulfilled orders placed before 2:30pm same day and orders placed after 2:30pm the next day - and achieved this around 95% of times. It’s been the best year of growth and learning. We are lucky to serve amazing stockists, a large returning custom base, an active and growing subscription base as well as meeting lots of other traders at well run events. We are still crazy busy, but whilst hand pouring every candle I now have the headspace to start thinking about what 2024 will look like and recruiting our next pair of hands to lighten the load.
