🤝 Ever wondered what happens when you bring together 20 professionals from 9 different sectors to learn about building effective partnerships? I recently sat down with Melissa Porteous, Senior Programme and Training Manager at The Partnering Initiative (TPI), to delve into the rising demand for cross-sectoral partnership training and the unique benefits of convening participants from diverse sectors. Key insights that emerged: ✨ Despite diverse backgrounds - from small NGOs to large corporations - organisations face surprisingly similar partnership challenges 💡 The power of perspective-shifting: by utilising interactive scenario-based learning, participants are able to understand problems from different perspectives, often leading to powerful "lightbulb moments" 🌍 Theory meets practice: Real-world experiences from varied sectors allow us to continuously enrich our partnership frameworks What struck me most? The reminder that while organisations may speak different languages, the fundamentals of effective collaboration remain universal. Curious about cross-sector partnerships? 🗝️6 Key Roles of Philanthropy in Activating PPPPs Public Private Philanthropy Partnerships (PPPPs) have an incredible ability to change systems. They can work to address deep-rooted issues and, by combining the unique resources and powerful levers of public and private, they can deliver social, economic, and/or environmental transformation for the benefit of all. While potential partners in a PPPP know that they will benefit from systemic change, they each have barriers that make it hard for them to start a collaborative change process. These include: • Perceived high risks • Lack of leadership momentum • Insufficient trust among partners • Active resistance to change This is where philanthropy becomes critical. It provides the 'activation energy' to convene partners, build momentum, solve problems, and ignite PPPPs to start the process of systemic transformation Curious about the 6 key roles philanthropy plays in activating PPPPs? Swipe to find out! 👉 Want to learn more? We were delighted, Saman, to be able to support such an important local initiative. Your work epitomises community collaboration at its finest. Taking excess supermarket food that would otherwise go to waste and turning it into delicious, healthy curry to provide nourishment to 100s of people is a case study in how we can make best use of our dwindling resources, tackle climate chaos, improve health, provide food for those struggling and create connection. Thank you for the incredible work you do.
