When children have anxiety, it impacts the whole family. It can be incredibly hard for parents to know what to say and how to help. And, without support, children’s anxiety often escalates or becomes entrenched. Th Positive Parenting Project offers expert support for parents of children with anxiety (6-14yrs). Our online parenting course has been specifically developed to help parents cope with the challenges of parenting a child through anxiety. It will help you understand what causes anxiety and take you step-by-step through concrete strategies you can use to help reduce your child’s anxiety. We also offer private 1-2-1 support sessions to help you talk through your concerns and work out the best solutions for your family. 👉 Know what to do when your child is anxious or upset. 👉 Help your child develop a toolkit of coping skills to overcome anxiety. 👉 Break the cycle of anxiety and avoidance. Helping children through divorce and separation isn’t easy and there are no pain-free solutions. Reading children’s books about divorce and separation can really help by introducing new ideas to little ones and normalising new living arrangements. Snuggling up with a book is a great way to broach the difficult emotions that can come with family changes. It gives children a chance to ask questions and raise issues indirectly using the book’s characters. And it can reinforce key messages about children still being loved and not being at fault despite any big changes. There are lots of children’s books about divorce and separation out there - here are a few of the best for children aged 2-7 years: https://buff.ly/3zxnpUf Comment below if you have other recommendations too!

My heart does a happy dance reading this review. But that's not the reason I want you to write one. Writing reviews helps other readers find the best books for them. By explaining what you found valuable about a book, you are helping someone else find the support they need. Your words might be the reason a parent who is struggling finds this book. You might be the crucial factor that makes a real difference to a parent, to a child, to a family. So, please, if you read a book and you find it valuable (whether it's my book or someone else's), always hop back to your online retailer and leave a few words. You can leave a review on Amazon even if you didn't purchase the book there. Thank you (and happy reading) 🙏 #WorkingParents #WorkingParent #WorkingParenthood #Parenting #ParentingTeenagers #ChildrensMentalHealth #Parents #Teens

When your teen is holed up in their bedroom most of the time – or has their eyes fixed on a screen - it's tempting to rush at a conversation with them whenever we get the chance. We spot them padding into the kitchen for snacks and jump on the opportunity to offload every bit of communication all at once – info, advice, complaints, the whole lot! But when we do that, we can set up a pattern of unsuccessful (or antagonistic) conversations. A pattern that tends to encourage teens to avoid talking with us…. There are lots of tips in Anita Cleare's new book on how to communicate well with teens and build a strong relationship. Here's one of them 👇 #Parenting #ParentingTeenagers #WorkingParents #Communication

Back to work and it’s all Go! Go! Go! My calendar is creaking with ALL those meetings that couldn’t happen in August because somebody was away... on top of a hectic schedule of delivering webinars, seminars and one-to-one support (not to mention a book launch)! I know a lot of you will be feeling this too. So, to make your lives a bit easier (and, I’ll be honest, my scheduling!), I have put together a quick-to-implement plan for supporting your working parents this autumn. The next few months are packed with Awareness Days and Themed Weeks – so why not use these to put on some meaningful support? Here are my suggestions from our service menu: - Work Life Week (7-11 October): ‘How to be present & connect with your children when time is limited’ (webinar) - World Mental Health Day (10 October): ‘Supporting children’s mental health’ (webinar) - National Stress Awareness Day (6 November): ‘How to enjoy family evenings with less stress’ (Ask the Expert session) - Anti-Bullying Week (11-15 November): Parenting Clinic (1-2-1 appointments) - Christmas & New Year: ‘A positive parenting approach to the holiday season’ (webinar – or make it a seminar and I’ll bring the mince pies 😁 ) Our highly acclaimed support for working parents is easy to book, value for money and delivered by a leading international expert. Practical solutions for real life parenting problems… so your working parents can get on with doing the best job they can (both at home and at work). #WorkingParents #WorkingParent #WorkingParenthood #WorkingMums #WorkingMoms #WorkingMum #WorkingMom #WorkingDads #DadsAtWork #HR #EmployeeWellbeing #EmployeeEngagement #WorkLifeWeek #ParentingSupport #ParentingWebinars #ParentingExpert #DiversityAndInclusion #DEI
