Another great bridge between the world of work and education has been built. Last week, PRIORY COMMUNITY SCHOOL ACADEMY year 11 business and enterprise students pitched their ideas to a panel of dragons. They could have presented to school staff, but where is the fun in that? Students stepped up, pushed through fear of the unknown and many now plan to study business for the next steps beyond school. Mission accomplished. As we wrap up the 2023-24 career programme at The Priory Learning Trust, I wanted to pass on huge and sincere thanks to..... Our students, their families, colleagues, employers, higher and further education outreach staff, careers peers and friends for ALL of your help, good humour, kindness, patience, ideas and time. It has been a great year. Our 3 schools are all on the same page with a career programme stuffed with impactful events and activities all carefully wrapped up in pastoral care and guidance. Yes, we dealt with some big numbers, but each student's experiences are tailored to their need. Whether it is a quieter air conditioned room for interview day or mini trips to colleges and employers as an alternative to 1 big work experience placement. Yes, there have been some highs and some lows, but that's life. Nothing that cannot be overcome with a trusting employer, the support of a great team and a community of peers.
