ON LOCATION: Our Brands Director Hannah Tan-Gillies has been on location to Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 for the official opening of TRG Concessions’ artisan café, bakery, patisserie and cheesemonger Jones the Grocer. Also in T2, TRG has opened a Jones the Express, with the two concessions combined spanning over 5,900sq ft with 222 covers. Some fantastic news from TRG Concessions! One of our excellent units in Heathrow airport has joined an incredible list of finalists for the Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year at the The Airport F&B + Hospitality Conference & Awards (FAB). Some of team Concessions will be at the Awards ceremony itself, and we cannot wait to hear all about it.

You've read all about the days activities, and now for the bit you're all looking for... the evening! After dispersing for a short break to get glammed-up; our evening started with a chance for old friends to catch up, and for new friendships to flourish. Jon Knight kicked off the evening with a toast to the teams hard work, praising everyone for their incredible hard work and dedication over the last few years. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious meal and some time to relax, where we even managed to serenade one of our ROMs with a very enthusiastic rendition of Happy Birthday. It was then on to the part of the evening everyone had been waiting for, our annual Awards Ceremony! We celebrated many individuals and teams across the business; looking at those who have really made a difference both within their units and beyond - these are the people who pioneer what it means to be a part of team TRGC and Barburrito, and they are all shining stars within the company. After one last huge thank you from the senior leadership team, we were lead out of the banquet hall by a saxophonist where the evenings festivities kicked up a notch! Photobooths, a 360 video booth, and an incredible DJ/saxophonist partnership meant the teams could dance until they dropped. It was an incredible day, and the room was full of people who are truly proud and excited to be part of team TRG Concessions and Barburrito. We're already counting down the days until we can all be together again! Last week, some of the amazing teams behind TRG Concessions & Barburrito got together in Manchester for a fun-filled day celebrating our successes over the last few years. GMs and Chefs from across our sites met up with some of our head office team to discuss the last few years, and how well we have come out of such a challenging period. We received a business update from our CEO Jon Knight, who highlighted some truly incredible results from across the business while also giving a heartfelt thank you to our incredible teams. Directors from across the business then mirrored this sentiment while giving their own updates on all things Recruitment, Food & Drink, Business Development, Charity Partnerships and our upcoming internal competitions. We then had incredible talk from Scotty Mills, full of anecdotes from his time in the Marines and beyond - focusing on the importance of team work and resilience. We'd love to take this opportunity to extend our thanks again to Scotty - it really was a fantastic talk. These insightful speeches and insights into the business were punctuated with tombola's and raffles, enthusiastically hosted by our very own Kirsten Pottinger, raising nearly £1,000 for our charity partners The School Club Zambia in the process. Our winners received prizes such as iPads, Apple Watches, Amazon vouchers and even a highly coveted giant cuddly chick. To round out the days festivities, a panel of senior management faced questions from the teams via an open floor Q&A - answering some important questions on how we make what is already an excellent operation, even better. From whether pineapple belongs on a pizza ( sorry Dean wilson Hartles) to the future of our brands, it created a real buzz around what is to come from Team TRG Concessions & Barburrito.
