It is sad when people give The Robot-Proof Recruiter (Book) 2 stars because Amazon damaged it in transit! This only impacts the author. 😢 My new publisher explained that Amazon receives 50% of what you pay for each book from a traditional publisher. And the Author (usually) receives 10% of the other 50% that the publisher receives - something called net receipts. So for a £20 book: Amazon gets £10, the publisher £9 and the Author just £1. Something to ponder before giving any book a 💩 rating because the retailer damaged it - especially when it is easy to request a replacement! #recruitment #talentacquisition #recruiters

What's in my recruitment #Zeitgeist? (definition below) We don't know what's REAL anymore! Thoughts offered for Day 4 of #MeetYourRecruiter week from Recruiting Gym - home of recruitment training So AI is the big talk in the recruitment industry and may define the era as we adapt to this digital revolution. So we are all formulating our AI strategy: Will we decide whether to reject AI in favour of a bespoke craftsman-type approach? OR go all in with AI for maximum efficiency? OR take a hybrid approach using AI to automate some processes while maintaining a personal touch??? However, put in a backdrop of fake news, and a lack of trust in politics and business, a wider issue is that we don't know what's real anymore. So my thought is that people are craving humanity and authenticity in their relationships. Also, that people are choosing their products, services and partnerships on a values-driven basis and with social and environmental factors in mind. So with this in mind I'm going to filter my plans through the lense of my personal values of courage, creativity and compassion and the Macstaff company values of Expertise, Integrity and Commitment. Where AI is compatible with this it will be used as a tool where it doesn't it won't! Thinking this through motivated me to pull out a great personal development book from my shelf. If you want to future-proof yourself as a Recruiter, read The Robot Proof Recruiter by Katrina Collier who walks the talk values wise and is donating her share of royalties to Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance to change lives of the most vulnerable street children!
