🏴 Purposeful Scottish Produce 🍯 Award-winning Pure Honey 🐝 Charity: Repollinate, supporting pollinators
About us
Passionate about pollinators. We founded The Scottish Bee Company back in 2017 after long discussions about what we could do to help the environment. We always wanted to run a business that was socially and environmentally responsible and the more we read about the decline in bee numbers, the more we felt we needed to do something. We started off by giving bees to beefarmers across Scotland in order to help them as there was no funding available to beefarmers. We increased bee numbers by 23 million but quickly learned that there many more types of pollinators that needed our help. This led us to starting our sister charity, Repollinate.org.uk. 10p from every unit sold goes to this charity that aims to increase pollination through education programmes and wildflower projects. Since then we have achieved multiple awards for our honey and are currently working hard to tackle the problem of honey fraud around the world. We will always be a business with the environment and people in mind. We pay a living wage and have flexible working hours. We only use recycled or recyclable packaging. We source ethical honey, beeswax and scents and we always strive to learn more and be our best in all of these areas. We are progressing to be much more of a Scottish Larder focusing on slow food and regenerative farming. The ingredients we use at The Scottish Bee Company are deeply connected to the soil, climate and environment that create them.

Extraction time! 🍯 In the first photo, you can see full frames of rich amber honey being placed into the spinner — a delightful combination of bell heather and other summer florals like rosebay willowherb. The second photo captures the frames after spinning. All the honey has been extracted, leaving the frames empty and ready for winter storage ✨ . #honeyextraction #beekeeping #purehoney #hives #scottishhoney

We’re thrilled to announce that our products have won prestigious awards at the Great Taste Awards from Guild of Fine Food! 🏆🍯 Here is what the judges had to say... 🏆 Scottish Heather Honey - 2 Star Award "This honey has a beautiful, soft velvety texture and is glossy. It has the colour and consistency of soft toffee. The aroma is simply beautiful, intense, and deeply fragrant, redolent of both the heather, sun-bleached warm hay, and toffee'd caramel notes." 🏆 Kimchi Hot Honey - 2 Star Award "It is an absolutely delicious and exciting product with a flavour journey that delighted the judges.... The judges loved the use of the waste product, too. A totally delicious and innovative product." 🏆 Scotch Bonnet Hot Honey - 1 Star Award "This looks vibrant and enticing. It's rich and thick, with a beautiful reddish gold colour. Scotch bonnet is such a great one to choose with its fruity characteristics. The honey blends perfectly with it to give a condiment that would be so useful... We think this is so cleverly judged with the fruity chilli matched with good but gentle honey." A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey! ✨ . #greattaste #greattasteawards #honey #heatherhoney #hothoney
